I woke up to the sound of my phone ringing. I checked my phone screen. It was a text from my mom asking me to go to a family dinner at my parents house.

I turned off my phone and laid back in bed and wrapped myself in the blanket.

A few seconds later and my phone dinged. I ignored it the first time but it just continued.

I groaned and check the messages. It was Rachel asking where I was. Oh shit the bar!

I checked the time on my phone. It was 12:37 pm.

I called her as I was getting out of bed.

I got up and looked at myself in the bathroom mirror. I look like a MESS.

"Hello ? Where are you? We open in 3 hours!" Rachel said.

"I'm on my way I just woke up late." I said as I was brushing my teeth.

"This is so unlike you Marisol." Rachel said a tiny bit angry.

"I know I know, I was just up a little late last night." I said looking around my room for a clean pair of jeans.

"Just get here as soon as you can." Rachel said then hung up.

I threw my phone on my bed and changed quickly. Over my shirt, I put on Zach's hoodie because the sky was a little grey and also it smelled so good hehe.

I quickly ran to my car and drove to the bar.

As I was sitting in traffic I got a call from my mom.

"Hey mom." I said, looking through my rear view to make sure there weren't any cops behind me.

"Hi sweetie! What are you up to?"

"I'm driving to the bar right now to help clean up, why what's up?"

"Oh you're driving? I'll call back later!"

"No mom it's okay go ahead."

"No no no I will not be the reason you get a ticket today." She chuckled. "I'll call back soon it's about the dinner, love you."

"Love you to mom." I hung up and continued to drive.

I parked in the alley by the bar and noticed I and people arguing by the backdoor.

I squinted too get a better look at the people. It looked like Zach and Ted the local tow truck guy. Ted always picks up the cars in the alley when they stay over night without a parking permit. My sister must have called Ted about Zach's car. I got off and walked over there.

"Wait what about $150?" offered Zach.

"Look buddy you're late, read the sign 'no parking from 12-7'." said Ted.

"Fine $300 on the spot." Zach said pulling out money from his wallet.

Was Zach really trying to bribe Ted?

"I said no kid."

"Ted!" I said walking up to them. "It's alright, I told him he could leave his car here."
