"Get to work now both of you!" My sister shouted as Alex and I both walked out of her office. I still can't believe I'm going to be working with both a mute and arrogant person. I just don't know how I am going to cope.
"So...umm..." I started, not knowing what I was going to say as we headed into the storage room. But before I could finish, his hand flew to his back pocket as he whipped out a block of yellow sticky notes. He suddenly had a pen in his hand as he began to scribble in the most beautiful handwriting I have ever seen. I don't usually gawk at very many things, but this would be an exception. "That is the prettiest handwriting I have ever seen" I whispered, saying it mainly to myself rather than him. I was unable to say it louder as I didn't want the pen to stop moving. He smiled and stopped writing a few seconds later as he lifted up the note he was writing, tore it off and gave it to me. The note read:
So I think we got off on a rough start.
You don't have to speak to me if you don't want to, I'm not the easiest person to have a conversation with.
However if you'd like something more than a conversation with me... I can be of service ;)
Forgive me?
Oh and on a scale of one to ten, how gorgeous am I exactly?
10! 10! 11! You are so gorgeous it's unbelievable! Thankfully this time it was in my head and I didn't say it out loud. Phew!
However good-looking he is, he can't just think that after what happened and the embarrassment I went through that I can just forgive him! If he wants to make it up to me he'll have to figure out another way. But writing a single note isn't the answer.
He had been watching me the whole time I read and re-read the note. He had a giant smirk on his face that grew bigger when I looked up at him. That did it. I scrunched up the note and chucked the yellow paper at his chest which bounced off of him and onto me...(Talk about serious abs)
I glanced at his face before I walked into the storage room and was shocked to see a small smile on his lips. And a look of recognition as he stared at the scrunched up piece of paper on the floor.

"Thank you for shopping at J.K Smith, come again soon" I recited for the 5th time in an hour. I watched as the old lady carried out the bag which held the first ever Harry Potter book, The Philosophers Stone, by J.K Rowling.
I loved that book, especially the wizard chess, that was my favourite game in Harry Potter. Such an old series of books, yet still the most famous.
Which reminds me, I have to get the new stack of books that arrived yesterday. Where's Alex?
"Alex?" I half-shouted to every isle of books. It was then I realised how stupid a person can go. It's not like he's going to reply me.
When I finally found him after five minutes, he was reading To Kill A Mockingbird, by Harper Lee.
"What are you doing?" I asked annoyed that he wasn't doing anything. He works here now, he's no longer treated like a customer.
He whipped out his block of yellow sticky notes and wrote down with a pen: (where the hell did that pen come from?)
Reading. What does it look like I am doing?
I seriously want to strangle this boy.
"Could you put all the new arrivals in alphabetical order?" I asked in a half-pleading tone. "It's in the storage room"
He wrote:
Only if you say the magic word...
Moron.
"Please" I said rather quietly.
He flashed another yellow card with a cocky grin plastered on his face.
I can't hear you...
"Please" I said once more getting annoyed.
He got up swiftly placing the book back on the shelf and walked in the direction of the storage room, leaving me standing there to stare at the wall.
Bastard.
