emma: are you ready?
noelle: yeah give me a sec
emma: it's about to be our first time ;)
noelle: okay, what the fuck
emma: i wont tell your girlfriend ;)
noelle: stop
noelle: i wont facetime you with the way you're going
emma: :(
emma would like to facetime...
Noelle pressed the green accept button, and set her phone up against a pillow on the end of her bed. The screen lagged for a second, before lighting up with Emma's face. Noelle couldn't help but grin.
"Hey!" Emma greeted, smiling at her.
"Wow, I totally didn't expect you to sound like that." Noelle said, taking a sip of her starbucks drink.
"Wow, um, rude. What's that supposed to mean?" Emma joked, faking offence.
Noelle shrugged, "i'm not too sure actually. Maybe I was expecting a more high pitched, annoying voice? But it's kind of raspy. It's nice."
"Oh my god, no one has ever complimented my voice before. Thank you!" Emma laughed, switching the position of her phone which made the video lag.
Emma was rather pretty, Noelle wasn't afraid to admit that to herself. But she was with Samantha, so she always felt guilty when she thought another girl was pretty. Maybe because Samantha taught her to feel that way.
"We love a starbucks queen. Is that the cafe you work at?" Emma asked, trying to read what Noelle ordered from the small printed label.
"No," Noelle chuckled, swirling her drink around, "I work at a cafe on a corner, but the coffee's kind of shitty. Kind of feel like i'm cheating while I drink this, actually." Noelle joked.
"You dirty girl. Love that for you."
Noelle and Emma talked for hours, asking each others questions and just talking about life in general. Their conversation seemed so natural, like they haven't known each other for only a week. It was nice, Noelle found it difficult to click with someone like she does with Emma.
Even when Noelle and Samantha were together, conversation seems forced sometimes. And they've been together for almost two years.
"Hey Noah," Noelle's dad softly knocked on the door, and three seconds later poked his head through, "I need to go to work early tomorrow, do you mind making sure your sister gets out of bed?"
"Sure thing, dad."
"Okay, love you."
"Love you, too."
"Is Noah your nickname?" Emma asked after Noelles dad left the room.
"Yeah," Noelle scoffed, "I hate it."
"I think its cute, maybe even quirky." Emma teased, making both girls giggle.
"I'm changing your contact to Noah Baby." Emma declared, her facetime instantly going into paused mode.
"No! Don't!" Noelle shrieked, but she knew she couldn't do anything to stop her.
"The damage is done." Emma said.
"I hate you." Noelle huffed.
"No, you don't." Emma reminded her, grinning from ear to ear. She was right, Noelle didn't hate her. Noelle liked her a lot more then she showed.
"We should totally meet some day. Maybe you can come down to LA." Emma said after half an hour of more banter.
Noelle contemplated the idea, before nodding.
"Yeah," she smiles, "that sounds like a fun idea."
