Noelle's POV:

"Sweet Jesus, Emma. I would actually like to make it to the beach in one piece." I sneered, dramatically clinging onto the car handle as Emma made a rebellious swerve.

"Calm down woman, I haven't been in a car crash yet." Emma laughed.

The sweet voice of Khalid seeped out of the radio, playing softly so Emma and I could still chat without competing with the volume of the loud music. It was nice, just being around her was nice. Her perfume was sweet, her voice sounded even sweeter. I still couldn't wrap my head around the idea of her being here. Touching her, hearing her voice in person - it was all so surreal.

"We're here!" Emma cheered, parking her car in a narrow car park.

"Thank fuck. Restrain me from kissing the ground." I joked, making a quick exit out of the car. I saw Emma roll her eyes, but she chuckled under her breath. She grabbed her camera and her other essentials, before locking the car.

It was the beginning of summer. Teenagers fresh out of school lounged on beach towels, basking in the glorious LA sun, I could see a heard of teenage boys diving into the ocean. The energy was pure, the beginning of Summer break created a pleasant atmosphere.

(i know last chapter it was like winter but the time line is now messed up SO NOW IT IS SET INTO CURRENT TIME AFTER ALL THE SCANDALS)

"So," Emma began. I watched as she flicked a long strand of hair off her shoulder. Her hair was gorgeous, and it was rare that it was not thrown up into her signature bun. I just wanted to run my fingers through it.

"So?" I questioned, setting down a beach towel beside her own.

"Do you like it? The beach?"

I looked around the beach. I looked towards the horizon, studying the line where the water and sky met. It was pretty. I haven't gone to the beach in years.

"Yeah, it's pretty. Who knows, maybe this'll be the last time I'll even visit a beach before global warming takes us out." I chuckled, sitting down on my beach towel and digging my toes into the warm sand.

"Well, in that case, i'm glad i'll be visiting the beach for the last time with you." Emma smiled, taking my hand in hers. I rolled my eyes, mutely scoffing at her comment. I pulled down my sunglasses that were resting atop my head so they were not resting on the bridge of my nose, concealing my obvious blush.
