PROLOGUE

"How can you act like its nothing Stephan!" I yell at him, using his full name just to show how mad I am, "I open up to you, tell you how I feel and you tell me not to worry I'll get over it! What type of cold shit is that? Do you realize you were my first? I gave it all to you! I was a virgin dammit!" At this point I'm too angry to cry. My hands are balled into fists and I'm restraining myself from punching him.

"Because that is a breach in the contract! We were not supposed to fall in love! Kaylie, I'm not trying to be cold here but you're making this hard for yourself. I'm not a commitment kind of guy and I had made it crystal clear. Look, I'm gonna be late for my flight so I better leave. Whenever you're ready the car will be available. Bye Kaylie."
"Please don't go." she said in a whisper. He turned back to her and his gaze softened for a minute before he replaced it with his cold gaze.
And just like that, he left. The man I loved so much that it killed me.

The man I thought I'd spend the rest of my life with.

It was at that moment I remembered my step mother's words, "you look stupid Kaylie. Whether or not you wear that dress won't make you beautiful. You're an ugly little thing and you'll never find love. You'll die old and alone."
The words kept replaying in my head until Stephan closed the door. It was then that I realized I had been but a mistress.

"What are you doing here Makayla?" Ok. Wow. Using my full name! That must mean she's really mad.
By 'She', I mean Kyla Hunter. My BFF. Or at least she used to be.
"Ky, I'm here to apologize. What I did was totally messed up."
"You think! Makayla you bailed on me at my toughest time. You left me to go cruising with your rich boyfriend! I thought best friends stuck by each other no matter what!"
"I'm really really sorry Ky. Please don't stay mad at me. If it makes you feel any better, it didn't work out." I said pleadingly
"I can't really stay mad at you when you're this cute" she said with a chuckle.
"I'm relieved cause I really need a job."
"I thought your agreement ended with a fat check?"
"It did but I didn't take it. Now I realise my poor judgement" I said with a laugh.
"You always were a bit of a chuckle head." She said with a laugh
"I love you Kyla. I'm sorry I wasn't there."
"Its cool, at least now you're back. Tell me you'll stick with me and not run off with another"
"Trust me, I won't... The man I love doesn't love me, so I'm not running off with anyone." I said as fresh tears streamed down my cheeks

Kyla hugged me and I felt the comfort I had yearned for for so long.
"He's a jerk for not seeing how awesome you are."
"A hot jerk who can get hot models and actresses and every sexy person in the world"

We got to the hospital and the doctor run a few tests. All through he was frowning and I got really worried. He then came back into the room beaming and I was thrown a back

"At first we were confused about what was wrong but now I can gladly say congratulations my dear. I bet you'll make a great mother. I could fit you in my schedule for all your check ups. I would love to be your gynecologist."
"Mother? Gynecologist? I don't understand doctor!!"
"Why, you're pregnant miss Johnson ."

That was the last thing I remembered before the dark smudges joined to form one complete abyss of darkness.
"Kaylie! Are you alright? You collapsed and you terrified the hell out of me."
"I'm fine now. Can we go home?"
"Sure."
"Kaylie,you know I'll always be here, right?"
I couldn't answer. I was still in major shock. A single mother with a meager income and a baby daddy who wants to hear nothing from me. Wow! My life's going great!
