Soon after we had settled down, Mrs Ong, the year head for the third years, announced, "Third years, please come forward when I call your name. Amber Sim, Ally Lim, Brittany Chew, Carrie Ng ... Kayla Loh, Sonia Ong, Trina Seng and Viola Teng. You will be in 3 Creative. You may follow your teacher to your new classroom now."

I couldn't believe it. I am going to be in the same class as Brittany Chew? She was the smartest person in our whole level last year. I lined up with the rest of the class before following the teacher to class.

The class was brightly lit and was very spacious. There were about 20 desks excluding the teacher's desk. The desks looked like they were just bought a few seconds ago - sparkly, clean, not wobbly and there wasn't a single vandalism on them. So, this is how it feels like to be in the best class?

I sat down next to a girl with hair as long as mine. In my school, students with hair beyond shoulder length needs to braid their hair up. That girl didn't bother to do so. I wanted to tell her to braid her hair but upon thinking that she may get a bad first impression of me, I looked away and ignored the fact.

She seemed so engrossed in the thick book she was reading that she probably didn't notice that I had sat down next to her. Behind us were two other girls -one of which was Brittany Chew.

"Good morning, Girls'. I will be your new form teacher. You may address me as Mrs Leong. Now we are going to get you to tell your partner about yourself," A lady in shoulder length hair greeted.

Dutifully, I asked the girl beside me what was her name. She said in a cold tone while still engrossed in her book, "Letters."

"So... I am Sonia and I love travelling to different places. Umm... what do you like to do," I asked Carrie. "Stuff," Carrie said while still reading her book."Seriously?"I muttered to myself, perhaps a little bit too loud. She then replied with a sly grin, "Well, if you were smart, you probably would notice what I'm doing now. But obviously, you're the contrary." Why? Why did I choose to sit with her? I could have just chosen some other random person besides this ill bred girl. How am I going to survive for a year sitting next to her. I sighed once again.
