I was still in the hospital. A few seconds later, grandmother burst through the door. "Oliver, my sweetheart, are you okay?" nana yelled. Before I could answer she pulled me in for a bear hug. I could hear her sobbing as she squeezed me tighter. So tight I could barely breathe. "Nana, " I breathed out. She slowly released me from her hug. "I'm sorry. I'm just really glad that you're okay." Grandmother spoke. A tear rolled down my cheek.
The truth was that I was not okay. I had almost died. And if it wasn't for Kichi...
"Nana, do you know someone who has a kid named Kichi?" I asked. I wouldn't be surprised if she did, she knows about everything and everyone in this small town. "Of course, his family just moved here today. Why? Would you like to meet him?" My heart sunk a little. "Sure," I replied. I had no interest in welcoming the guy, but I did want to find out more about his magic.

After what felt like forever, they finally released me from the hospital. I could go home and sleep off all this mess. I really did have terrible luck.
When we got home, I decided to take a shower. I needed it, the steam and heated water on my skin. The cold only reminds me of that river I fell in. Dark, cold, shallow- "Oliver? Are you okay? You've been in there for a while."
My train of thought was lost and I returned to the real world. "Yeah, I'm okay. I'll be out in a second." I yelled. I turned the water off and stepped out of the shower. While doing so, I lost my balance a little, slipping and then hitting my back on the side of the tub.
I gasped in pain, "Sonofabitch!" I muffled into my hand. I heard quick shuffling up the stairs and then a knock on the bathroom door, "Everything alright in there, do I need to come in?" My nana asked in concern. "No I'm fine I just lost my balance." I chuckled in pain. That really did hurt though, luck couldn't even give me a break after almost dying once.
I got up, hoping the pain would eventually go away. I stood in front of the mirror. The bathroom reminded me of Kichi's scent. I kicked myself mentally. That's not weird at all. Especially if it smells just like your savior. How do I even remember something like that? I sighed as I put on my night clothes.
While brushing my teeth when I noticed that there was a mark on my left cheek. It was faint but it was definitely there. I left it alone assuming it was just an acne scar.
I went downstairs, still rubbing my back. Nana was finishing up a phone call. "Who was that?" "It was just the landlord, I had told them about your hospital trip and they said to rest easy." She simply replied.
"Now about your recovery, you won't be going to school tomorrow," my heart fluttered, those were the best lines that could be told to me. "But you won't be able to just do whatever you want either. You will be helping out the neighborhood by being the newspaper boy." My heart broke in two, if this was a video game there would have been a "game over" screen. "Ugh," I clutched my heart dramatically.
"But Nana do I look well enough to do something like that?" I looked at her as sickly I could, pretending to sway like the room was spinning. "Stop being dramatic. Of course, I am very aware of that which is why you will be having a partner with you." "Ehhh, seriously, a partner? I'm not 5." I pouted. "Yes but you yourself said that you weren't well enough to do it on your own. And plus it seems you already meet your partner." My thoughts stopped in their tracks.
"It doesn't happen to be Kichi does it?" "It is, his mother thought it'd be a great opportunity for him to get to know the neighbors in the neighborhood." I was once again doing summersaults in my mind. I get to meet him tomorrow. I can't believe this. I couldn't help but smile, yet it probably came off more like a smirk.
"Now go off to bed. You have to wake up early tomorrow!" My Nana urged. "Huh! But I haven't said if I wanted to or not!" I argued playfully back. "Nope, it's already been decided, plus it'll be good for you to go out and meet new people. Now go to bed!" She said sternly. "Alright, Alright! I love you, Nana." I chuckled as I kissed her on the cheek. "Love you too, sweet heart. Rest well." She said back sweetly as I walked up the stairs.
I hopped on my bed. I didn't even realize how exhausted I was. I grabbed my phone off of the nightstand and checked my notifications.

I opened the email. It's was only a scammer trying to "sell" me the newest version of a phone. I sighed and turned my phone off. I rolled over and looked at the ceiling. I'm so pathetic. I don't even have anyone texting me when I'm in trouble. I closed my eyes. And drifted into a slumber.
A/N: Alrightty. Hopefully that was good. Totally didn't forget that I wrote this ahaha-
But in all seriousness I hope you, dear and lovely reader liked this chapter. Till next time space cowboy~
