After spindle was gone Amy took Spartan for a ride and Maddie came with them. Maddie adored Spartan. Since Spartan was good with little kids Amy let Maddie ride him whenever she wanted. Just then a new horse named Buster arrived at heartland. Maddie took a liking to Buster right away and after Amy had finished working with him for the day Maddie wanted to go see him. A few weeks passed and Buster was healed and it was also Maddie's third birthday and as a present Amy and Ty bought Buster for Maddie and Maddie rode him every day and then Amy watched Maddie and Buster perform certain tricks. Maddie learned how to do a posting trot on Buster and Amy was proud of her daughter.
