Valerie was woken up by her phone ringing loudly, disrupting her peaceful slumber. Her eyes slowly adjusted to the brightness of her well lit room due to the sun beaming through the blinds. She rubs the sleepiness out of her eyes and picks up her phone, answering it without paying attention to who was calling her. She clears her throat before speaking up, "Hello?" She says tiredly.
"Did I wake you up? I'm sorry." His soft voice sounded through the phone.
She smiles, "It's okay." She says softly as she shakes her head dismissively. "What's up?" She asks.
He cleared his throat, "Why don't you answer the door and see." He chuckles.
Valerie's eyes widen, "W-What? Tom- I-I just woke up. How- I don't understand?" She says taken aback as she started making her way toward her bathroom.
Tom laughs, "Darling, it's okay we're not going anywhere. I'll wait outside, but I do have a surprise." He says as Valerie heard shuffling through the phone and Tom shushing someone.
"Just use the key underneath the mat, I don't want you to freeze outside." She tells him. "I'll be downstairs in a bit." She says before hanging up and continuing with her morning routine.
She looks at herself in the mirror brushing her hair with her fingers and deciding to not put any makeup on. She looks down at her attire, replacing her black tank top and light blue shorts to a black and white onesie. She then walks downstairs, her attention being caught by an excited Tessa running toward her. Valerie coos as she pets her lovingly, "Hi." She says softly in a baby voice causing Tessa to rapidly wag her tail and turn around in circles.
Valerie looks up to see Tom sitting on the edge of the armrest of the couch staring at his two favorite girls adoringly. Valerie stands up, walking toward him as her arms wrapped around his neck. "Hello to you too." She laughs softly as his arms wrapped around her waist.
"You complete me." Tom whispers as he smiles at her.
Valerie shakes her head playfully, "That's funny, you took the words right out of my mouth." She smiles up at him.
His eyebrow raises, "Did I?" He teases as he lifts her up causing her to wrap her legs around his waist.
She nods her head as Tom pressed his lips against hers, giving her a passionate and longing kiss. His tongue swipes along her bottom lip as she opens her mouth to grant him access. Their tongues mold together, Tom smiling into the kiss as he pulls her into him closely. His hand trails to her face, his thumb caressing her cheek gently as he breaks away from the kiss. His forehead resting against hers as they both breathe out softly.
Her eyes look up into his loving ones, smiling. "You're so one-in-a-million." She says softly against his lips.
He smiles at her, his face lightly turning a shade of pink. He gives her a soft short kiss before speaking up. "I have a surprise."
"What? I thought you bringing Tessa was the surprise."
His eyebrows furrows in amusement as he let out a small laugh. "No, love. It's- here, follow me." He says, leading her into the kitchen. "We... are going to bake some Christmas cookies and have a Christmas movie marathon." He tells her as he shows her the stuff he brought to bake cookies.
She gasps, "Fun!" She says happily as she goes to get the cookie sheet and any other stuff that they'll need.
Tom goes to the items that he had bought and looks over at them. "Huh..."
"What?" She asks as she already preheated the oven.
"I may have brought the wrong cookie mix- er, dough?" He says as Valerie laughs at him adoringly as she walks up to him.
"This is fine. It's pre-made cookie dough." She tells him.
"Oh... I knew that." He lets out a soft chuckle.
"I guess we'll be eating chocolate chip cookies instead of gingerbread cookies." She coos as she runs her fingers through his curls, brushing them away from his face. She smiles at him as she gives him a soft kiss before going to get the cookie sheet ready.
As Valerie was getting the cookie sheet ready, she places the cookie dough on the sheet and starts slicing them as Tom starts rolling them into a ball and then organizing them.
"Okay, I think we're good." Valerie breathes out happily.
"I'll put them in the oven." Tom says as he took the tray away from Valerie and putting the tray in the oven. He then puts a timer on for about twelve minutes. As Valerie was cleaning up the mess they made, Tom wraps his arms around her waist from behind as he places his head in the crook of her neck.
"What are you doing?" Valerie whispers, wrapping her arms around Tom's.
"Nothing, just hugging you." He tells her as his breath hits her neck. "Val?"
Valerie hums in response as she looks down at him. She caresses the top of his head as Tom looks up at her from the crop of her neck.
"I love you." He says softly, staring at her adoringly.
Valerie smiles softly at him, turning around to face him as his arms are still wrapped around her lovingly. She places her arms around his neck as she plays with his hair.
"I love you, too."
