Continuing where I left off
He had come home last night without a notice. As she departed her room to make herself a discouraged breakfast, she heard his deep booming laugh in the kitchen, probably with a phone latched to his ear talking to heaven knows who. She decided not to question his actions.
He stood there with his sweatpants hanging low, a plain white t-shirt adorning his torso. He had his back to her, crouched against the counter, staring absentmindedly at the cabinets as his lips spread into a grin.
The girl rubbed her eyes softly before yawning inaudibly, gathering what little courage she had. Her feet padded against the cole tiled floor, hands in sweat paws as the shirt she wore was once Jahseh's, and gently wrapped her arms around her boyfriend's waist, dropping her head onto his strong muscled back.
He didn't respond. He didn't move away either which made the girl quite happy since that's all he did recently. Instead, he stood still, listening intently to whatever the person had to say.
When his body shook with laughter, the girl smiled excitedly to herself because finally Jahseh was in a decent mood. Finally, after a couple minutes of simply hugging him tightly to her chest and Jahseh talking, he mumbled his farewells and set his phone on the counter.
"Good mornin'," his girlfriend mumbled into his back the second she heard the clang of his phone, inhaling his manly scent. She loved his aroma and it was odd because it was simply his natural scent she came to adore.
"'Hello," he said back, shifting to the right uncomfortably but the girl mistook it for a romantic sway. She only hummed and carelessly placed a kiss on his mid back, the highest she could reach, and softly detached her limbs from him. He immediately turned around and walked to the refrigerator without looking at her.
If she had noticed, she failed to show it. Instead, she jumped up and sat down on top of the counter. Her legs dangled off the side and she kicked them while watching Him rummage through the fridge.
He stayed silent, even after he had found the orange juice, and placed it a couple inches besides her. The action made her frown because he had seem so light speaking with his friend, yet he wasn't so playful with her.
The thought stung especially when the voice in her head came back to remind her of his feelings, however she chose to ignore it.
"You look tired. I didn't even hear you come into bed last night!" she exclaimed, rubbing her eyes again.
"It was quite late," he agreed, removing a bowl from the far left cabinet, then searching for the whisk.
He didn't bother informing her that he hadn't slept next to her.
"Well, you shouldn't be up this early then. How about you sleep and I'll make breakfast," she offered cheerfully, sliding down the length of the counter towards Him. Her knees touched the sides of Jahseh's thighs but he didn't seem to mind.
He had cracked two eggs open and began to beat at them. Y/N noticed his puffy eyes rimmed red with tiredness and suddenly, she felt annoyed at herself for only worrying about her own well being while Hewas torturing himself with tons of work.
He shook his head. "No, it's fine.
"But it's Sunday!" she protested.
He placed the whisk down rather loudly when he completed mixing. He walked around her legs and reached into their spice cabinet to pull out a red powder and salt. He wordlessly placed a pinch of each in the miniature bowl and continued to shuffle towards the stove.
It was probably a sign for the Y/N to stop running her mouth but a pout grew on the girl's lips, arms crossed across the span of her chest. "Jahseh!"
"I told you, I don't want to sleep. I'll catch up on it if I come home tonight," he gritted his teeth and forced the words out.
