Rays of the morning sun lit up Shen Wei and Zhao Yunlan's apartment. A shimmer came from the necklace pendant the professor had around his neck. Although it was very early, Wei was already struggling with one of the many piles of homeworks. He was so focused in those notes that he didn't even hear the door opening. Ye Zun peeked out, carrying a shopping bag in his hand. It was only because Ye Zun announced loudly his arrival behind his brother, that Wei woke with a gasp from his "meditation", as Ye Zun called it.

-YO, BRO!

-Ye Zun, dammit! "Good morning" would be enough.

-It's not my fault if you lose yourself completely when you do those things you do. Good morning.

Ye Zun went to put the bag in the kitchen, while Wei was back to breathing normal again while checking the wristwatch.

-It's called work, you know.

-Yes, yes, that boring stuff I will have to do myself sooner or later and blah blah blah.

-It would be nice, yes. I hope your being here so early is due to some news about it.

While the younger one was settling the things he bought, the elder one began to set the table. Ye Zun being there so early in the morning was very unusual. Usually, he was able to sleep until lunch, since in the evening he used to waste time in city's pubs.

-Can't I see my big brother going to work? What would you like for breakfast?

The answer completely misguided the wished topic. It was always like that. Wei shook his head: Ye Zun was incorrigible; even if he was an adult, he haven't done anything good in his life yet. Wei put away his belongings in the briefcase he carried with him to school and approached the other one in the kitchen.

-I'll do it.

-Stop right there, I'll do it.

So much care, Wei thought.

-Just coffee, than. I'll have breakfast with the Headmaster.

-Promotion? Teacher of the Month Award...again.

Wei looked at Ye Zun. Was that sarcasm? It was just Wei's job, it was not his fault if others wanted to reward him. He didn't even need all those compliments; Wei considered himself a humble teacher, who needed nothing more than seeing good marks and smiles on his students faces for those votes. The dissolute twin went back and forth to the kitchen, almost diligently arranging the area and carefully preparing coffee for the eldest one. When Ye Zun brought the cup of coffee to Wei, Wei watched that strangely innocent smile.

-Is there something going on?

-Why?

-Don't know. You're strange.

-I just made coffee for you. Are you OK?

Whatever the reason for that strange behavior was, Wei smiled.

-Thanks anyway.

-Duty. What time will you finish today?

-At 4pm.

-No lunch then.

Wei looked at him. Yes, Ye Zun was acting strange.

-What about tomorrow?

-At 2pm, but I'm gonna have lunch with some students.

-And the day after tomorrow?

Maybe not so strange... Wei sighed.

-I finish at 12 o'clock on Wednesdays. I already told you a thousand times. Why do you never remember it?

-Wednesday lunch, than. If I will remember it.

Ye Zun had completely ignored Wei's scolding. Ye Zun was like that. He was an overgrown child: nothing had changed with the passage to adulthood for him, because he was still behaving like a carefree, immature and rebellious boy. But the real truth behind all that, it hadn't even reached his brilliant twin.
