Part IV - Brothers

  Neither Wei nor Yunlan have lied at the end, they were just unaware of Ye Zun's actions. Wei couldn't believe that his brother have played such a prank. Yeah, Ye Zun has always been a particular boy, one who found fun in things in which there was none at all, but risking to lose something so precious... And for what?

-Why did you do that?

  Ye Zun didn't answer.

-YE ZUN!

  Wei raised his voice and this shook Ye Zun somehow. He looked at Wei with an expression of hatred. If Wei got angry at something Ye Zun has done to him, Ye Zun would accepted it, but what was giving Ye Zun tremendous annoyance was the fact that his brother was looking at him like that because of Zhao Yunlan. Wei was always against him! The younger one suddenly began to laugh. Wei kept eye contact. Ye Zun got up and put his hands in his pockets, and faced Wei carelessly.

-Wow, such a strong couple. One trivial thing was enough to make you collapse.

-Trivial? That necklace is a symbol, it's not something you can joke about.

  Ye Zun looked at him.

-Now you need to have something in your hands to call it love?

-You're saying nonsense.

-Yeah... Because I can't do anything else, right?

  Wei didn't answer. Wei had the feeling that Ye Zun was doing everything to make him angry and avoid apologizing on purpose, but Wei still couldn't fully understand why. He just let it go. He would get nowhere with Ye Zun anyway.

  Wei shook his head, turned his back and then went out. As soon as the door slammed behind him, Ye Zun found himself alone again. For a few moments he didn't say or do anything, he just stared into emptiness. He swallowed. A strong sense of guilt began to creep inside him, which made him put his head in his hands.

-Dammit!

  He didn't want it to go this way! His eyes became red and moist. Why did he always have to cry when he's dealing with Wei? Ye Zun hated it. He hated himself... Ye Zun just wanted to spend more time with his beloved brother; why Wei couldn't understand him? Well, it was not the right way to fix it. But whenever Wei threw him off the balance, Ye Zun would always react by attacking him, and he would regret it right after.

-Why don't you understand?

  Ye Zun had to fix it quickly. He took the house keys and he left. Wei returned to the apartment. Ye Zun really made a mess this time. If it was an innocent prank or done in another time, Wei would have understood, but Ye Zun had really crossed the line. Yunlan was on the sofa, watching TV.

-Yunlan, we have to talk.

-We have already said it all.

-We were both right.

  Yunlan made a twisted expression, then he stood up and started heading for the kitchen. Wei stopped him, grabbing him by the arm.

-It's all a stupid joke by Ye Zun, the situation just got out of his hand.

  Yunlan didn't say a word. Wei exposed what he thought about the situation.

-Ye Zun went to the university on Wednesday and took my necklace from the drawer. I think he wanted to hide it to make a prank. The girl you saw was passing by and she must have mistaken him for me. She gave him some cookies, so he must have taken advantage of it and he could have given her the necklace, with the intention of take it back in a short time. What I don't understand is why he don't wanna tell me who this girl is. We just have to find her.
