Chapter Two: Kidnapped!

Raven had finished shopping at the mall, and was eating lunch at the Jump City Burgerland when her cell phone vibrated against her breast.  She pulled her cell phone out of her bra, and looked at the Caller ID.  Upon seeing MY BELOVED GOBLIN on the screen, she smiled and answered the call.

"Hello, Gar," she said.  "What's up?"

"Are you at the mall?" Beast Boy asked in a desperate tone.  Raven smiled, and shook her head.  "I take it you weren't paying attention when I told you I was coming here to buy you some birthday presents."

"No, sorry," Beast Boy apologized.  "I was daydreaming about how I want our next date to go."

"You're such a sweet little goblin, Gar," Raven said.  "I'm glad you're mine."

"So you're buying my birthday presents?" Beast Boy asked hopefully.  Raven replied, "No, I'm done with that.  Now that I'm finished, I'm eating lunch."

"Whatcha eating?" asked Beast Boy.  Raven answered, "That vegetarian burger you like at Burgerland.  It's actually pretty good.  Better than a hamburger."

"So," Beast Boy said nonchalantly, "what didja buy me?"

"Ah-ah-ah!" said Raven.  "Nope!  You're gonna have to wait till your birthday to find out!"

"Awww..." said Beast Boy disappointed.  "Well at least tell me if you bought BubbleBots 2014?"

"Maybe," said Raven teasingly.  She had teleported her purchases to her room when she'd finished buying them, but she did remember BubbleBots 2014 to be among them.  But she wanted it to be a surprise.  She changed the subject.  "So if you were daydreaming, how'd you figure out I was at the mall?"

"Oh," said Beast Boy, and Raven could tell he was blushing.  "I went nuts trying to find you in the tower.  I looked in ridiculous places till the other Titans told me where you were.  I checked the laundry, the laundry machines, the fridge, the stove, the microwave, the dishwasher, my pockets, the Kleenex--Hey, are you laughing, Rae-Rae?"

"Hahahahaha!  S-sorry!" Raven giggled.  "It just sounds too funny, hahaha!  Sorryheeheehee!"

"It's okay, Rave," said Beast Boy.  "I like your laugh.  It's as cute as you are!"

"You're cute too, my little goblin," Raven said smiling.  "But do you mind if I hang up?  My burger is getting cold."

"Oh, Okay!" said Beast Boy cheerfully.  "Text me when you're on your way home, Rae-Rae."

"I will, Gar," said Raven.  "Love you."

"Love you too," said Beast Boy.  "See you later.  Bye"

"Bye," said Raven, and she hung up.  She finished the rest of her burger in ten minutes, and then texted Beast Boy:

ON MY WAY BACK HOME. BE THERE IN 10.

GONNA FLY. XOXO LOVE U. MORE XOXO'S

RAE-RAE

She put her phone back in her bra, and glided off.

As Raven glided through the Parking Lot, Beast Boy texted back:

KK. CU. LOVE U 2. XOXOXOXOXOXOXOXO

Raven smiled as she read the message, and put her phone back.

Suddenly, the car that Raven was passing drove backward toward her so fast that it almost hit her.  Raven shrieked, and it stopped less than an inch from her hip.

"WHAT THE HECK!?!?!?" Raven shrieked as the driver got out.  It was a big muscular man with blond hair and blue eyes.  "Watch where you're driving!  You almost hit me!"

"I'm sorry!" said the man.  "I'm so sorry!  I didn't see you!  Gosh, you're pretty.  Do you have a boyfriend?"

"Yes, I do!" snapped Raven.  "And if you had hit me, he would've hunted you down to hurt you back!"

"Are you a virgin?" the man persisted.

This question made Raven uncomfortable, and freaked her out a bit.

"Um... I'm just going to leave now," she said.  She turned to fly away--

Suddenly the man grabbed her from behind.  He wrapped his left arm around her, effectively pinning Raven's arms to her sides.  His right hand pressed a large sponge over her face.  Raven let out a muffled shriek of protest, and struggled to get loose, but the man held firmly onto her.

"Sorry, beautiful," the man murmured into her ear, "but I can't let a girl as good-looking and attractive as yourself escape me."

Raven held her breath as long as she could, but after a full minute she had to breathe.

One breath couldn't hurt, could it? she thought, taking a quick breath.  She immediately smelled the ether in the sponge.  Ether put demons to sleep faster than anything else.

Shit! thought Raven as she passed out.
