Soul Collector

Prologue

Kaida and Miku found themselves at the door of the third hokage's office their parents had been on a mission together and had not returned in weeks and they knew the mission would not take that long for their parents are excellent shinobi. Miku clung to Kaida nervously she had never been here before. Kaida smiled at her and squeezed her hand reassuring her friend. Kaida and Miku were very young at the time, Kaida was 6 years old while Miku was just 5 years old. They were both in ninja academy together working on becoming genins they were inseparable. One of his guards stood beside us and knocked on the door they heard a man yell, "Enter!" Miku flinched but Kaida shushed her gently and they followed the guard into the room where their stood more guards. Kaida gulped and led Miku up to the hokage.

"Miku Tanaka and Kaida Kasai am i right?"

Miku nodded and Kaida replied, "yes sir."

The third hokage nodded and looked at them with sadness in his eyes. "I know you two are young for this kind of news but you must know. We have received news that your parents were killed during their mission." The girls gasped and turned towards each other embracing. Miku was sobbing uncontrollably whilst Kaida held her trying to stay strong for her but it was no use tears were running down her face. How could this happen? Their parents were the best. Who had done this?

"I'm so very sorry. I would let you two continue to live in your houses but you two are too young to take care of yourselves properly so i will arrange for you two to live here with me."

Kaida sniffled and wiped her nose then turning to look at him. "You would really do that for us?"

"Of course. Your parents were excellent shinobi and we were good friends. It's only right that I ensure you two are safe."

" Thank you hokage sir." Kaida replied for Miku.

"Excellent i already had one of my anbu collect your things. Now they will escort you to your rooms."

The girls nodded and turned around back towards the door where two anbu stood waiting for them. As they walked through the palace they were finally realizing how large it actually was. Each anbu stopped at a door Miku was across the hall from Kaida but she wasn't showing much sign of wanting to leave her side. "Come on Miku go see your room." Miku let go of her friend and moved towards the anbu glancing back towards her friend. "Go on i'll be right here." They opened their doors and gasped the rooms were bigger than any room they've ever seen before. Kaida couldn't help but stare at everything in awe. She stopped when she saw a picture of her and parents on the bedside table. She began to tear up again now aware of their fate. She heard her door open and in ran Miku holding a picture frame as well. "Kaida i miss them."

"I know Miku i do too." Miku got Kaida's bed and Kaida joined her, she rubbed her back. "It's going to be okay, Miku." Miku looked at her with red puffy eyes, "how do you know?"

"Well because we have each other and we always will be together."
