Two-Brook

28 days left.

28 days to get jack to fall in love with me. I haven't spoken to him much, just little bits of conversation here and there.

"Earth to Brook." Rye said as he waved a hand in my face.

"Yea?" I came out of my daydream to see Rye looking at me with a weird expression.

"Hows the bet going?"

"What bet?" Harvey said as he sat down next to Rye in his normal spot.

"Rye bet me that I couldn't get the new kid to fall in love with me."

"There's no way he gonna do it. He seems a little reserved."

"Not really. Didn't he make friends in like two minutes of being here?"

"Who? Andy and Mikey?"

"Yea."

"Well other than them he doesn't talk to anyone else. But It's not a bad thing. I wouldn't mind talking to Andy."

"Ooo you falling for the new boy's friend?"

"We're not talking about me. We're talking about you and Jack."

"That seems a little cruel, doesn't it?"

"It would be, but knowing Brook, he won't even get a date out of the lad."

"Hey! I can get a date."

"Bet."

"No! You guys can't keep making bets, that will hurt the poor guy."

"Well he'd have to go on a date with me, so I can get him to fall in love with me."

"Say you win? What happens after the fact? You dump him because you have no use for him anymore? You wait until he dumps you and waste both of your time? There is really no good outcome to this."

Ive never thought about that. What would I do? I don't want to hurt him, but I also don't wanna be in a fake relationship. I look over to where Jack was sitting to see him laughing at something one of his mates did. His smile seems so big, I wonder what could've caused it. I look back at a very disappointed Harvey.

"Ill think about that later."

"Ok class, today we will be starting a project. You have two weeks to get it done, thats plenty of time so I will collect no late work. The directions and rubric are on the sheet that I'm passing out. Please follow them carefully and ask any questions you may have. This will be a group project so find one person that you trust to get the work done."

I look over to Yas to see her with her girlfriend, figures. She was the only person I know in this class except for-

"Would you like to be my partner?" Jack was behind me fidgeting with his hands. He tugged his lip between his teeth looking at me with questioning eyes.

It's like he read my mind. "I'd love too."

"This is an out of class project so make sure you have someway of getting in contact with your partners," the teacher reminded us.

"So would you like to come over to mine after school?"

"Yea, Id love that." Jack said, repeating what I said to him.
