its been twenty eight years since the event

i have a lovely family with three kids

but i still think about beverly quite often

and today

stan has been released from prison

it's on the news

and it all floods back into my mind

i think of him

before he was so damaged

i remember my first impression of him

before the bullets

just the boy at the empty lunch table
