Katie Garrison was extremely smart. So smart in fact the Nero scientists have deemed her smarter than Albert Einstein. Due to this, she has already gone to the ACAS (advanced college for the advanced students) But it still wasn't enough for her. She talked several times to her principal about just letting her graduate, but he had constantly told her to wait for the next class to graduate which was 8 months from now. Everyday Katie went to her classes, bored out of her mind. And everyday she was bullied by a guy named Kai. Katie HATED Kai. Out of all the people who hated her, he was the worst. She hated him so much because this.
One day she was walking to the bathroom and Kai came out of nowhere. He stormed up to her. "I getting pretty tired of you just showing off how much of an Einstein you are" he sneered. Katie stumbled backwards. "I'm not showing off" she said. "And trust me, if I could leave, I would". Kai started toward her. " yeah right. I'm not ever going to trust you". Katie dodged a fist and stumbled. Then Kai came at her again and she ran. She tripped over a random notebook laying on the floor. She turned to see Kai running at her. He grabbed her hand and out of desperation, Katie slipped her hand out of the skin colored casting, revealing a white prosthetic arm. Kai dropped the cover and stumbled backwards. "What- you- how- " he mumbled. Katie got up and ran as far as she could.
Katie cut her hair so it was messy, short, and Katie didn't really care. Now that everyone knew about the numerous robotic body parts, she started having a bit more freedom with what she could do. She rarely wore her covers, and on the off chance that she went to school, it was never for educational proposes. Half a month after the whole catastrophe, she was in her dorm working on a hover board. It worked but now she needed to connect it to her Nero pathways, robotic and living. As she was testing the transit method, there was a knock on her door. It was her dorm landlord. "You are getting a new roommate in one week" she said in her plain flat voice. "Also Laura has come". Laura was Katie's closest friend. Able to except the fact that she was a cyborg long before Kai revealed her secret. Laura walked as the landlord left. Laura had REALLY long hair that she kept in a ponytail, because that was the easiest way to keep it clean. It was the first time Laura had seen Katie before the whole catastrophe. They stood there for a minute before Laura rushed forward and gave her a hug. Katie returned the hug and she would have cried if she had tear ducks. " I'm sorry you have to live like this" laura said. "You lost your parents, became a cyborg, people make fun of you for being so smart and that's without knowledge of you being a cyborg". They broke apart. "There's nothing you can do about it" Katie said. "Don't be sorry" she said giving her a sympathetic smile. "Now. Let's get ready for that new roommate of mine".
