Katie, Ember, and Laura walked into the mall to do Laura's "girl bonding time". They went from shop to shop, Laura flying through the clothing racks and Katie taking interest in the technology department. Ember found her place in ThinkGeek. In fact, they all came to love that place. They ended up walking out of the building with three bags from thinkgeek, two from clothing stores, and Katie had a small bag with what looked like a computer chip in it.
"That was super fun" Laura said as they walked out.
Little did they know that sitting on a buildings not too far away, a girl sat watching with interest in the girls. She was hooded and had big feathered wings on her back. Then a bystander pointed her out. His exclaim attracted the attention of the three girls so she spread her wings and took off.
The three girls looked after in astonishment. "Did she- what was- how-?" Ember studdered. "I'm a cyborg and that was weird even for me" Katie said. Laura was speechless.
Back at Katie and Laura's dorm the three were still trying to contemplate what happened and what they saw. Laura turned on the TV news channel.
"This afternoon, a young girl was seen sitting on a ledge observing three girls. Its does not seem too interesting at first but the girl was seen with what looked like silver-tinted white wings like that of eagle. A bystander managed to capture this picture of her. As you can see she wears a hood and her face is shrouded in shadow preventing us from her identity. People have started calling her Silver Wing. This is Ashley Miller, reporting for Eye Witness news."
The three stood in shock. "This girl" Laura began. "She could possibly explain what's been happening to me" Katie whipped around. "What?" She said. "Whats been happening to you?" She asked. "Well I can move dirt with my mind like telakinisis. But I can't with other things. Only dirt. And also, whenever there is an animal around, they tend to seem to like me and take no interest in other people around me". Katie was silent for a moment. " why did you never tell me this before?" Laura looked sheepish. "I didn't want you to worry" she replied. That night, Katie lay awake. She could hear Embers gentle breathing in the bunk above her. Katie decided to listen to some music I hopes of falling asleep. She got out of bed and on the other side of the small room was the desk were they kept there devices to charge. Just as she was reaching for her MP3 player, the heard a thump. Almost as if it were in her room. She looked at Ember thinking she just kicked the wall in her sleep, but she was in the exact same position she was five seconds ago. She proceeded to turn on her MP3 player, thinking it was a squirrel on the window. Not even two seconds pass and she hears the same sound again coming from the door outside her room. Quietly, she opened the door. She couldn't see anyone. When she turned back to her room it seemed darker than before. She closed the door and made her way to the closet. She found the flashlight and turned it on. She pointed it in her room and the light hit someone. Seeming to be a girl, she put hands up to block the light and disappeared. Katie froze. She swiveled around the room but saw nothing out of the ordinary. Then Ember woke up. "Katie, what are you doing? Put that away". Katie upturned off the light. " what happened? You look like you saw a ghost" Ember said. "That's the thing" Katie replied. "I might have"
