"You're an abomination!!" Katherine's dad yelled with fury at 7 year old Katherine. She cried out while tears streamed down her face.
"D-Daddy.. please"

She yelped and tried to hug her unforgiving father. She wished more than anything that her mother was there. She had left Katherine and her dad when she was just 3.
He says it was divorce but Katherine knows it was something much deeper.
She could smell the beer seeping off of his breath as his eyes wandered and his legs wobbled.

"You're the reason your mother left me in the first place. She told me it was because of my 'addiction', but i know it was because she didn't want to take care of a demon child like you!"

Katherine could barely see through her tears.
She knew that his words weren't true, but they still hurt like hell.

3 years later, Katherine had gotten placed into foster care after her father died in a car crash. Cops ruled it as a DUI.

She was placed with a family in London.
They were boring and kind when they wanted to be, but they never really paid any attention to Katherine. This gave her time to explore her magical abilities but also caused her mental health to plummet. Seeing as she was constantly lonely and had no one to turn to.

Her newfound parents had always found pleasure in going out every weekend.
So one lonely Saturday night, Katherine had gotten into her stepdads razor blades and tested on of them on her soft, olive skin.

Katherine blinked away the memory and pulled her sleeve down.

I'm not that person anymore.
I'm strong and important.
Be proud of who you've now become.

No one knows about her past or her muggle parents. She's decided to start a clean slate at Hogwarts, where no one can judge her because of who she was.

Draco laughed and playfully punched his friends, Crabbe and Goyle, in the arm. They had all been making fun of Ronald Weasley.

"Aren't those hand-me-down robes?"
Crabbe laughed and pointed at the freckled faced first year, who hadn't noticed the teasing.
Draco let out a quiet laugh and went along with the teasing. His father had always told him that non pure-bloods and people who didn't have a lot of money were not equal to them and didn't deserve to be treated like so.

Draco had never gotten exposed to kindness or love his whole life, therefore he didn't think it was at all logical or right for him to be different than his parents.
