3-Date Night

Sunday, we put the actual finishing touches on our apartment, and laid low, considering none of us had interviews, and the only one of us to have a job was Peter, and he worked every other day at some pub in the afternoon. So, really, it was just me, Courtney and Jake, catching up on The Office, eating my special chocolate chip pancakes, and just talking.

"So, did you kiss him?" Jake asked in between bites of pancake topped with whipped cream. Real healthnut.

"Ha, no. But he did kiss me, though it was only the cheek." I ended, mumbling the last few words. I wasn't really expecting any kind of kiss, but I had hoped it would have been an actual kiss, if any.

"Yea, but are you going to ever see him again?" Jake asked.

"Jake, I see him tonight for dinner, and why does it matter?"

"Because you are letting something golden go to waste! At least consider making this date a tad more, interesting if you will."

I considered what Jake said, but as soon as I had begun to consider, I threw it out of my mind and changed the subject.

A few hours later, and I had began to slowly get ready for dinner.  I decided to put extra effort into how I looked and how I presented myself, so I got ready almost 4 hours before I was to expect Joey. Peter had gotten back around 5, bringing along Mike, and once I got out of the shower, I was bombarded by both, telling me what I should and shouldn't do.

"Just make this date worth it. Introduce him to the Reg that we all love to be around, and maybe you'll get a few more dates out of this summer. But just make sure to have fun."

"Thanks Peter, that isn't the most cliche thing ever." Jake walked into my room, I'm assuming to add more to his previous comments about the date.

"Just don't be a prude, but don't be a ho." Mike added, and it seemed like the best advice. So I was going to attempt to go with it.

It was 7:30, and all I had done was hair and makeup. I had no clue what I was going to wear, and in the midst of freaking out, Joey texted:

---Hey, on my way to yours now, address?---

I quickly replied and then tore apart my closet until I came across a black dress ending just above the knee, that showed off my curves, and a royal blue, slightly shorter, with the same effect. I called for Courtney, and we only spent about 10 minutes, until we heard the doorbell.

"Shit. Shit. Shitshitshitshit-"

"You're fine! He's early anyways! We'll get you dressed, and get you out there looking hot!"

"But we haven't even picked out the dress!!" I yelled, shutting up real quick when I heard Peter opening the door for Joey.

"We'll let fate decide! Black is heads, blue is tails!" Court grabbed a coin from my wallet, "Call it" and with that, flicked it up in the air.

After about 20 extra minutes of looking for panty hose, shoes, and a better bra, I finally went out to meet Joey in the blue dress with nude heels.

"You.. you look great!" He said, looking me up and down. I really liked how sweet, yet so aggressive his eyes were.

"Uh, thanks" I said looking down, blushing like an idiot, "I don't think I've actually introduced these guys, this is Jake, Courtney, and Parker, my roomates."

They all shook hands and said hey, "And this is Mike, our friend who also moved here about a week ago, but lives with his girlfriend Ashley a few blocks down."

After everyone exchanged some casual small talk Joey looked to me, and we made our way out. When we got outside, he opened the door to a small, fairly run down black car, and it was then that I noticed he was wearing black dress pants, and a grey dress shirt with the sleeves rolled up. He cleaned up nicely, considering the last couple times I saw him, he was wearing old jeans and some t-shirt. Regardless, he looked even more attractive than usual.
