Pearls Pov

The next morning I woke up and did my usual routine in the morning, shower, brush my teeth (in the shower of course), hair, and a little a little touch of eyeliner.
Getting dressed, I decided on a simple outfit. Baby blue skinny jeans, a black paramore t-shirt, and some black faux timbs.
Neno was still sleeping so after getting ready I woke her up.
"Psssttt... Neno, Wake up. It's time for class."
She muttered something and turned over, falling back asleep.

Rolling my eyes I grabbed the necessities and headed out the door.

TIME SKIP

I  was currently sitting in Garnets class. The entire time she was teaching I wasn't paying attention. I could only think about my mother coming to "Visit" me this weekend.
'Why didn't she call me? Surprise or not. What am I gonna do about my weekend with Garnet? Oh fuck I'm over thinking again.'

I was so zoned out that I hadn't realized the entire room had gone to their next class. It was just me and Garnet.
"Pearl what's wrong? You were so completely gone that you didn't hear me calling your name to leave. And where's Neno?" She asked, walking towards me and sitting on my table.

"I'm fine, just doing some thinking about..." I scrabbled to find something to say that wasn't SO far from the truth.
"Pearl don't lie to me. I know somethings up. You can tell me anything you know?"
I took a deep breath in and let it out with a sigh. "My mom is coming over next weekend. She called Amethyst last night before you dropped me off. I don't want her to come. Not because I don't wanna see her, but because my mom is always comparing me to my cousin Sapphire. It's been like that since we were kids. 'Pearl look, Sapphire graduates middle school top of her class. Oh look, Sapphire joined the cheerleading team.' When we graduated high school and sapphire got valedictorian, she rubbed it in my face, saying how I should have tried harder and maybe I could have been salutatorian. It's just really fucking annoying that she wants me to be something I'm not." I stated

Garnet ran her fingers through my hair, causing me to relax a little bit.
"Baby it's okay. You're a grown woman now. Just talk to her and tell her how you feel."

"I've tried that! No matter what I do for that woman it's never good enough! She wants me to be a little prep girl that I will never be!"
I began to cry a little, thinking of all the times my mother made me feel like shit.
"Look Pearl, number one: I know his isn't the time but you know I do not like being yelled at. And number two: it's gonna be okay. You're already out on your own. At least you made her decision to go to college. You're on the right path. Not saying that people who don't go to college aren't, but you want as much as life can give you. And for that I applaud you. It doesn't matter what your mother thinks anymore. You can make decisions for yourself."

Garnet was right...about both statements actually.
"Sorry for yelling at you though."
She wiped a tear drop that fell from my now icy blue eyes and kissed my nose.

"Whether you believe it or not, everything is gonna fall into place soon enough. Just give it time."
Her words actually made me feel better and gave me hope that this visit with my mom wasn't gonna be completely shit.

"How did you get so wise?"
"Well, when you've been on this earth for thousands of years, you kinda know what to say and how to say it." She answered with a slight chuckle.
'Fuck, she's even cute when she's not trying to be.' I thought.

I saw a light blush form on her face. "I appreciate the complement."
'Okay you have got to stop doing that. How will I ever get anything past you if you can read my mind clear as day?'

"That's the point sweet cheeks. You can't get anything past me. I know all. See all. Hear all. Feel all."
' Typical stereotype vampire lines.' I might as well have said, while rolling my eyes.

"Hey, it's true. And don't roll your eyes at me again unless you want them to roll to the back of your head." She said winking.
I blushed a little and started to pack up my things.
"What do you have now?" I slightly shook my head.
"Nothing. I was actually gonna go back to my dorm and take a nap. It's only been a few hours into the day and I'm already emotionally exhausted."

"Well go rest up and I'll bring you a little something later. And before you ask no I'm not gonna tell you what it is."

She hopped of the table and slaked back to her desk in the front of the room.
"You know me too well." I muttered.
"Part of the job description. Bye!" Said said waving me off as I walked out of the classroom and headed back to the dorms.
