chapter 17

Merida's POV

I sighed rather loudly as I missed the target once again.

"Merida it's not like you to miss so many targets? is everything alright?" Mulan, my archery coach asked.

"I-umm yeah" i lied. Everything was far from alright "I'm just tired." i lie once again. She doesnt buy it but just nods her head and walks away. I aim at my target, the small red circle about 5 feet away I pull and slowly release only to miss again. I scream and throw my bow and arrow on the ground as i stomp my foot and sit down. I blow a piece of hair out of my face and rub my temples.

"Com'on Merida get it together," i mumble to myself.

"You dropped this." I hear someone say and my head snaps up to see Hiccup.I can immidiently feel the blood rush to my cheeks.

"T-thanks." i mumble as i grab them. He smiles and takes a seat next to me.

"having troubles i see." he says and i snork.

"A little." i say

"Let me help you." he says as he helps me get up.

"You know how to shoot?" i ask and he shakes his head.

"Nope. I've never even seen one of these in my life." he jokes and i giggle. "But i can learn." he says, a little bit of seriousness in his tone. I smile as i grab my arrow and bow. I aim at the target and this time i actually succeed. I smile and almost dance of hapiness."I bet i can do better." he says and i roll my eyes.

He takes the arrow and aims at the target. "Wait!" i say "Might wanna put the arrow in the right direction." i say and he looks down.

"Right! i knew that." he says "I just wanted to see if you were paying attention." he mumbles and i playfully roll my eyes. He aims but he doesnt even come a foot close to the target. I giggle and he rolls his eyes as he trys again. "Its hard when you have clutches." he says.

"Fine then let me hold them for you." i say and grab them.

"Wait Merida no!" he says but its too late and i had already grabbed ahold of them making him fall on me. We both hit the ground, him still on top of me. He smirks and i do my best to not look at him. My face is probably a tomato now. "You have puffy hair, you know that?" he says as he plays with a piece.

"I'm aware." i mumble his face only inches from mine. He smiles down at me as he gets closer. I can feel his breath and i gulp. I close my eyes but our moment was ruined by the sound of someone clearing their throat. He quickly pushes himself off me and i stand up. I see Mulan standing a couple of feet away from us.

"I-it's not what it-" i start.

"I dont need to know." she says "Just continue on practicing." she leaves.

I look over at hiccup who still sits next to me. I grab his clutches and help him get up. "Sorry about that-I didnt mean to-" he starts as he rubs the back of his neck.

"It-s fine." i say

"So i have something to ask you." he says.

"Yeah?" i say and he struggles to reply.

"will you go to-" he starts "the dance with me?"

Elsa's POV

"what do you mean you don't have a dress!?" Emma yelled at me.

"I thought i could just go with like some jeans or something." i shrug and she face palms

"You gotta be kidding me." she sighs "Elsa you don't go to a dance with jeans! Who does that!" she yells

"Hey!" i yell "They're new!" i say in my defense and she shakes her head.

"Elsa the dance is today!" she yells and i flop on my bed.

"so then i won't go, whats the big deal?" i ask

"I am not going alone!" she yells at me.

"Go with Merida." i say

"Merida has a date! We are the only ones who don't so shut your yaps!" she screams and i giggle at her choice of words.

"Oh well. Why don't we just stay here and like build a snowman or eat apple pie? Or both?" i suggest and she rolls her eyes.

"Elsa com'on please!" she begged.

"mkay" i gave in and she jumped with joy. "But where am i going to get a dress this late?" i asked

"Leave that to me." she mumbles as she dials someone on her phone. I shrug as i lay back down on my bed.
