Field trip

I waited for the school to come in the lounge room. Scrolling through instagram. I play with my hair swirling it between two fingers. "Logan they are going to be here in 14" Diane said. I get up and head into the meeting room. After the school got there Diane, Johnny, and I started the presentation. Johnny and I split the two groups. Johnny toke the first group out first.

"We just got to wait for 10 minutes so we don't run into them. Mean while does anyone have any questions?" I say. Taking the cup of tea that Diane left for me. A short haired girl and three other people came up and talked to me about the scholarship opportunities and more about how much is the cost per year.

When time was up I got everyone to follow me. I showed them the student lounge. "This is where students come to hangout, eat, study, or meet up" I say while I walk the group through the building. I walk then out of the building into a grassy field and a few pathways, surrounding by four other buildings.

"This is the main grounds usually it's used for events and stuff like that" I say sipping my tea. "Around here there are a few of our schools; school of medicine, engineering, and psychology" I say and turn to the group. "Does anyone have any questions?" I ask them.

There's one or two people lifting their hands. "How many schools are there?" Asked one of the guys. "We have 15 schools in our campus" I said and moved onto the next one. "How far are the dorms from the classes?" One of the kids in the back asked. "We will be going to the dorms in a moment, but they aren't far from here" I say. We move on walking to the library building taking a sip of my tea.

"This is the library. Students come get books or write papers, It's open from 8am-6pm in the weekdays, weekends are 10am-5pm, and they are open 24/7 for finals" I say. "So when finals come around you will see some people with a blanket, a few bags of Doritos, and a pillow and disappear" I say looping my hair over my ear I hear a few chuckles and laughs from the group. I laugh a bit. "Yeah it can be fun to watch a crowd of people in their pajamas walk like zombies into a building. Let's move on through the library" I say walking the group through the building.

We walk out the building a boy with blood orange hair walks up next to me. "Hey so uh when did you come here?" He asks. "This is my 3rd year" I say to him sipping my tea. "What's your name?" I ask him. "Oh Conio Lopardo" He says. "Nice to meet you Conio, names Logan" I say shacking his hand.

"So now we are in one of our class buildings" I say walking them to the lounge area in between the door to the building and the stair to the next levels. "If you have to use the bathroom go ahead" I say and some of the people go to the bathroom. I pull my phone out looking through my messages.

The Conio guy walked up to me. "Excuse me?" He says. I look up at him. "Yeah? What up?" I say to him. "So how are classes here?" He asks. "What do you mean?" I ask him. "So uh so what are class sizes and um and how are the schedules?" He says. "Yeah so classes aren't usually that big more about like 10 or 12 students per class, and the schedule is up to you" I tell him. "Do you have any more questions?" I ask him. "What about food?" He asks. "Oh I'll tell you that when we are in the dorms which is right after this" I tell him. "Ok" he says putting on his headphones.

When the kids that went to the bathroom came back we all walked to one of the dorm buildings. "So this is a dorm building" I tell the group. "If you look to your left that is the dining hall for this building. Every student here has a meal plan which lets them have three meals a day, but you can also you can go without a meal plan" I say to them. I look around to see if there were any questions.

"Ok now let's go and see how the doors look" I say walking up a few stairs getting the key card to the door. "Here you need to have a key card to get up to the dorms" I say opening a door with the card. I hold the door open letting them in the room.

"This is a model of how our dorm rooms look like" I say and give them a little while to look around. They snoop around the room while I stand at the door. After a few minutes I walk up to the group. "So you can do the dorm approach but you can also do the commute meaning you don't live in the dorms and rather live somewhere else and come to your classes" I say to the group. "So the first two years we want for our students to be in the dorms so they can have a feel for the school and the environment around it" I say.

I take them out of the room and take them back to the meeting building. "Uh hey" Conio walls over to me after we meet up with the rest of the group. "Yeah?" I ask. "Can I have your email if I have any questions?" He asks. "Yeah sure," I say going over to the secretary desk and take a sticky note writing down my email and phone number "I put my number too if it's easier" giving him the sticky note. I wave goodbye and walk out the building texting Johnny.
