The pale moon rises up into the sky after a beautiful Autumn day. I watch as the wind blows some fallen leaves around, picking them up and blowing them through the castle gates, only to let them drop at the door. I look up to see the last light of the castle turn off, and the last shadows walk away.

"Finally." I mumble as I slowly fly over the gates. I know no one can see me, but I hate walking in when everyone's awake. I feel like I'm intruding, and no one wants that; even if they can't see me.

I reach one of the top windows on the side of the castle and smile slightly. Of course she's still awake.

The window starts glowing a pale blue and ice starts crawling up. It's a spiky kind of ice, not like the smooth swirls I saw years ago. I look in the window and see the girl standing two feet away, looking fearfully at the ice. She steps back quickly and tears start to form in her eyes. I watch her walk over to her bed and slowly sink into the blankets, only to freeze the entire thing. She looks terrified at the sight of her bed, and collapses onto it with deep sobs.

"Come on Elsa!" I say encouragingly, even though she can't hear me. "I've been on this mission to help you for years now, you need to cheer up! Having ice powers isn't that bad, I'll show you!" I quickly open the window, only slightly, and enter her room. I smile when she looks up at the open window. Okay, if you can't see me, at least you can notice the window. "Alright, now I know you can't see me, but just watch! This has to make you change your mind about your powers, ok?"

I feel myself start to grin as I turn her spikes of ice into soft, misty swirls. I haven't done this in years and I remember how much fun it is immediately. I've been using this trick ever since I came here, and it's bound to help her eventually!

"Is someone there?" She asks, staring at the window questioningly.

"Yeah, it's me Elsa! Come on, I know you can see my powers, please just see me! It would make things so much easier." I continue making the frost along her window. Please just understand. Having ice powers is fun!

"Is this- is this me?" She asks as she closes the window. "But it can't be me, I don't make ice like this." She reaches out and touches my work. "It's... Beautiful." She starts smiling a little and stares at the frost.

"I'm glad you think so! You could do it to, if only you could understand!" I sigh.

Elsa reaches out to touch it again, only to turn it back into spikes of ice. She looks at the window with sadness and bursts into tears.

"I'm- I'm so sorry!" She says through her tears.

"It's okay, Elsa!" I say, putting my hand on her shoulder. "Don't feel bad, you'll learn!"

Elsa looks up at the touch of my hand. "What is that? What's happening?" Wait, can you feel me? I quickly take my hand off her shoulder. I don't want to scare her, I just want her to feel comforted.

"Okay, Elsa, you need to get some sleep! Tomorrow, your parents will be leaving on their trip, and you need to be well rested." I hope tomorrow will be okay. Elsa's so afraid of her powers, and her parents going away will only make it worse. "Come on Elsa, time to sleep." I slowly open the window again and slide out, making sure I close it before she notices.

I watch her for a few more minutes. She cries for a while more, but then starts drifting off into sleep. I shouldn't leave her; her nightmares are awfully dangerous. But Elsa's not the only one I have to help, and I'll make sure to be back early in the morning.

Tomorrow's going to be a big day for her.
