Alyssa P.O.V
Alyssa sat in class, bored out of her mind. She yawned softly and looked down at her finished worksheet. Math was soooo boring. Suddenly, the teacher called the class's attention. Alyssa looked up and saw him. The boy who would change her life forever. He had frizzy unkept hair and soulful grey eyes under a pair of glasses. Her heart skipped a beat as he met her gaze and smiled softly.
"This is a transfer student who will be in our class for the rest of the year," the teacher said, clearly not happy about the arrangement, Alyssa was though.
"Would you care to introduce yourself?" The teacher asked the boy. He simply smiled and nodded.
"My name is Akira Kurusu, it's a pleasure to be in your class this year," when he said the last part his eyes locked on Alyssa and he smiled wider.
"How about you sit right there, okay?" The teacher asked, pointing to the seat beside Alyssa. He nodded and sat down and the teacher motioned for class to resume and left. Akira leaned over and tapped Alyssa on the shoulder. She blushed at the contact.
"Um.. could I borrow a pencil?" He asked her.
"Yeah, sure!" She said smiling handing him her pencil.
He looked at her questioningly, "Don't you need that one?"
Alyssa blushed out of embarrassment while Akira laughed happily, she liked his laugh she would have to make him laugh more often. She handed him her spare pencil but he kept looking at her.
"You don't have any other supplies either?" She guessed and he nodded. She slid her desk over so it was beside his and set down the rest of her stuff.
"Now we can share," She said looking up at him, he was smiling. She sat beside him till the day was over, sharing her stuff. At the end of the final class he looked over at her, "Hey, I should repay you for helping me out so, I was wondering, do you wanna go get something to eat?"
Alyssa nodded and smiled. As they were about to leave, Mr. Kamoshida called out to her, "Ms. Snow! It's volleyball practice, where are you going?" Alyssa tensed up and reached for Akira's hand, she didn't know why but holding his hand made Kamoshida slightly less threatening.
"Sorry, Sir, I'll be right there," she said, then she turned to Akira and smiled weakly trying to mask the fear in her eyes, "How about another time?" She asked.
He simply nodded looking concerned. She walked off to the gym and looked back at Akira, "After, practice!" He smiled and nodded, she smiled back. When she reached the gym she sat down. Kamoshida called her out and she tensed up.
"You weren't even gonna come to practice, were you?" He hissed.
"N..n..no, Sir, you've got it wrong!" Alyssa defended as he backed her into his office.
"Have I?" He said threateningly. He grabbed a bat from behind his desk and raised it. Alyssa whimpered in terror as he began to bring it down. He slammed it down on her causing her to yelp in pain. He brought it back up and swung at her, bashing her side, causing her to collapse. Then he placed his foot on her chest and slammed the side of her head. Each hit made her scream out in pain. He continued to hit her head, then on her legs. She was roughly pulled up to stand and he began to punch her. When he was done she collapsed, then scrambled to her feet and dashed out the door. She ran into the girl's bathroom and looked at herself in the mirror. She had several new bruises on her face, then she looked down at her legs, they were in no better condition. She bandaged them up and crawled out of the window. She ran over to the front of the school and saw Akira had been waiting for her.
"Hey!" She called out to him and he turned around.
"Alyssa I....what happened?" He said noticing the bandages on her legs and bruises on her face.
"I wasn't at my best during practice..."
Akira looked like he wanted to say something but he didn't. They walked out of the school gates and down the street. After a bit they stopped at a very expensive looking restaurant.
"Can you afford this?" Alyssa asked questioningly. He pointed to an alleyway and motioned for her to follow. They reached the back door and he held up his hand for her to wait, then he went in. When he emerged he was wearing a waiter's outfit.
"We're just gonna take the food!"
He shrugged and said, "I don't think there's a law against it,"
He slipped back in and she smiled, she didn't expect him to be so rebellious, it made her heartbeat even faster. He slid back into the ally holding two expensive-looking steaks. He was also back in his casual clothes. He called a taxi and they got in. She didn't know where he was taking her, but she was excited. They stopped at a park an got out, he led her over to a picnic table and they sat down and ate. When they were done the sky was filled with glittering stars.
"Do you want me to take you home?" He asked, holding out a hand.
"Yeah," She said grabbing his hand.Akira P.O.V
Every time they touched it was like a jolt of electricity ran down his spine. He looked into her emerald eyes and blushed. She was the image of perfection, ginger hair tied up with an emerald coloured bow that matched her eyes, she had a small figure and was a bit shorter then him. Moonlight reflected off her hair. She smiled at him and it was breathtaking every time he saw it. They walked through the streets together, chatting happily. It felt like he had known her all his life. She stopped him in front of a old run down house.
"This is your place?" He asked, still holding her hand.
"Yeah," She said quietly.
He looked down at her. He wanted to kiss her so badly, but she might not like that. She pulled on his sleeve and motioned for him to bend down. He complied and she lightly pecked his cheek.
"Goodnight," She whispered and then she turned to walk into her house, waving and leaving him grinning like an idiot. Once she was inside, he spun around and strode proudly down the street.
