Chapter 4

I came down the stairs and walked into the bathroom. I splashed my face with water.

What's going on? Let's think about this.

I went to sleep. I was Three. I wake up. I'm Seven. Maybe, I'm just forgetting things. I mean, let's be serious. Everyone forgets stuff, right? Maybe, in the middle of the night, I hit my head on the bed. And now I have some memory loss. Ya, that's normal. And it'll come back soon. So why worry?

I fixed my hair and took one look in the mirror. I look like myself, just older. My hair was longer and a little darker. I was a lot taller. My face looked prettier. My eyes were getting lighter though. They used to be brown. They're turning a little blue, and gold.

"Why am I worrying?" I thought." I'm just getting older. It happens.

I left the bathroom and ran into to someone when I opened the door. It was Ms. Molly.

"Shay, watch where you're going. I don't have insurance in this place."

I pouted. "Yes, Ms. Molly."

She pointed her nose up and turned around on her heels. She left to her office. Just then, a little girl came up to me. She looked like she was about six. She had red hair in two pigtails. She had deep green eyes. She looked familiar.

"Happy Birthday, Shay!" She exclaimed. She gave me a hug. Her happiness was so contagious; I had to hug her back.

"Thank you!" I grinned.

"No problem." I then noticed her slight British accent. It hit me then. She was Lilly.

She looked at me. "How does it feel to be Seven?"

I sighed. "Different. Very different."

We walked outside into the Backyard. There, a bunch of kids came up to me.

"Happy Birthday, Shay!" They yelled.

I grinned happily. I recognized some kids from before that were here when I came in. There were some new faces, though.

"Thanks, guys!"

They all replied back with either "You're welcome" or "No problem" and went on their way.

Someone grabbed my hand and spun me around. I looked up to see Ayisha.

"Hey there, Birthday Girl."

"Hello." I giggled. "Where's Cameron?"

She shrugged. "Upstairs, talking to Kitty."

I nodded.

"What are you doing just standing there all lonely?" She asked.

I shrugged. "Nothing, I don't want to get in anyone's way. Everyone looks busy."

Her eyes widen. "Are you crazy? It's your birthday for God's sake!"

"So that means?"

"It means, you can do whatever you want, silly!"

"Really?" I asked

She rolled her eyes. "Duh." She grabbed my hand.

"Let's go do something fun."

We started walking towards an empty jungle gym. We passed by a very beautiful tree. Underneath it, a girl was standing there. She looked like a teenager. She was very familiar.

"Is that Yelly Kelly?"

Ayisha turned around and looked at the girl. "Yeah, but no ones calls her that anymore. She said she wants to be called 'Kels' from now on, said it looked better for her or something."
