*I'm dedicating this part to Ermz to thank her for keeping me updated with Jae's drooling pics. XD*
“Oh she’s Mari. Get her at the parking area. She dozed off in my car. Bye.” Xia said and hung up the phone.
He stared at the girl for a moment.
Her words are ringing to his head.
“Player... Perfect… Never love… Uncommitted…”
His hand moved to his chest where his heart is which has been dead for years…
Now, it’s alive again.
“Babe! Let’s go!” the 354th girl whined from his car and he left the drunken girl.
“Mari!” Ermz shouted at her.
Ermz’ older brother Yunho is holding Mari on his arms.
“Try slapping her.” Carmelle suggested earning her a glare from Ermz.
Then Carmelle slapped Mari.
“Who the-“ Mari opened her eyes and saw Yunho holding her.
She stumbled and rolled as she got off from Yunho’s arms.
“What happened?” Mari asked her friends.
“You drank too much. We didn’t notice you went somewhere, we called you and a guy answered your phone and told us that you’re here.” Ermz explained relieved that Mari is all well.
“It’s getting late. Sleep on our house.” Yunho told Mari and Carmelle.
They agreed and Mari is excited enough to tell her friends about her weird dream.
“And when that girl was about to take Xia’s clothes, I woke up and told her that she’s the 354th slut.” Mari told them as they hid comfortably under the sheets.
“How about Xia?” Carmelle asked.
“Xia? Hmmm… I told him that he’s a player and such.” Mari answered.
“Hey girls! Sleep already! I can hear you giggling!” Changmin scolded as he peered into their room.
Mari eyed Ermz.
“You know what? You’ve got cool brothers. Can I have one?” – Mari
“You can have Changmin oppa. He just likes food anyways.” Ermz lazily said and dozed off to sleep.
Mari turned around to Carmelle but she’s already sleeping clutching a sheet of paper.
Mari stared at the ceiling, smiling to herself.
“I love you.” He said those words trying to make it sound so real.
“I love you too.” The girl responded sweetly waiting for Xia to kiss her but Xia’s mind off to somewhere.
He’s impossibly thinking of Mari.
He smiled to himself, thinking that he’s foolish to think about her.
His eyes were wide open as Inspector Jaejoong passed a folder to him.
“She’s Chun’s sister?” Xia asked the inspector.
“Yes. I saw her last night in the pub.” Jaejoong answered.
Xia felt like that his heart dropped.
“Sir, are you fine?” Jaejoong asked as he noticed Xia’s unusual silence.
Xia nodded and gave Jaejoong the brown envelope.
The inspector got off his car.
“Thanks for all your work.” Xia said and he drove to his office.
He entered the office and saw Chun and paper works towering at his Hyung’s desk.
He hid the folder in his drawer and sat at his chair.
He turned around and stared at the view outside his office.
“Kim Junsu, what’s wrong?” Chun asked.
Xia never heard Chun calling him by his real name except when they’re at home.
Chun is being a brother now and not a secretary.
“Nothing hyung, just tired.” He lied.
Chun just sighed because he can’t do anything about Xia being afraid of commitment.
It was because Xia’s too innocent with love but corrupted with infatuation and lust.
“Hyung, what if one day… We found your sister and… I came to love her… Would you entrust her to me?” Xia asked Chun out of nowhere.
Chun broke into a smile and walked to Xia’s side.
“Of course. I trust you and when you say you love her, it’s true.” Chun told Xia.
Xia opened his drawer and gave Chun the folder.
“I found her.” Xia said and smiled.
Chun smiled at his step-brother.
Chun knows when his smile is pure and not and this time…
It’s pure.
Innocent.
Sincere.
Xia smiled as he stared at his phone connecting to Mari's number but then...
He heard her again...
Saying those words...
“Player... Perfect… Never love… Uncommitted…”
Xia hung his phone and thrusted it to his pocket.
He leaned at the window...
His thoughts, feelings...
all messed up.
"Maybe she was right..."
Xia thought to himself bitterly.
