"Mumma! Look at me!" Ansh squealed as he entered his room, only to find his mother crying as she hugged her knees.
Upon seeing Ansh, Anika swiftly wiped her tears and set back straight.
"Mumma?" Ansh touched her and found her being very cold.
"Oh no! Papa!" Ansh screamed on the top of his voice which was quickly muffled by Anika's palm.
"Ansh, why are you calling Papa?" Anika began to worry. He already loathes the very sight of her and her son isn't leaving a single chance to get them together in the same room.
"Mumma, you're so cold and you're crying!"
"I'm fine, Ansh. I'm just a bit sad!"
"Why are you sad, Mumma?" Ansh asked her as he tried to squeeze into her lap and snuggle into her.
"Hmm, it's because I don't have a Halloween costume!" Anika pouted sadly.
"Offo, Mumma! Why didn't you tell earlier? No problem at all! I'll take Ru Chachu with me and get you the best Halloween costume, okay?"
"Okay!"
"Now, please smile Mumma! You only look nice, like my Angel when you're smiling!" Ansh complimented her before jumping out of her lap and running out to fetch Rudra for another one of his miscellaneous errand.
Anika woke up and wiped off her tears. She went downstairs towards the kitchen as her stomach was rumbling and found Shivaay there, with his apron, baking. She knew it wasn't the right time, but they had to talk. Shivaay needed to know the truth and Anika couldn't stay away from her son. Anika sat on the high stool by the kitchen aisle and watched him baking. Just then, her stomach betrayed her and gave out a loud rumble, gaining Shivaay's attention.
"There's some potato baked lasagna. Want some?"
"Yes, please!"
Shivaay took out the left over he had packed earlier and warmed it up before giving it to Anika. However much problems they had, he was still a human and she is too. It will be extremely evil to not feed her especially when he had asked her to stay till night.
"Mmm... This is really good!" Anika moaned as she took more of the lasagna.
Shivaay didn't want to smile, but he had to because of her antics. Give Anika some good food, and watch her turning into a cute child right away! Shivaay regained himself and focused on his Halloween cake while Anika silently finished the meal given to her.
"Where's Om and his funny friend?" Anika asked as she didn't find anyone in the house.
"His funny friend is named Chulbul and I think they went out!"
"Oh! Do you need any help with these?"
"No Anika! We're Indians despite living in New York and we Indians don't make our guests work for us!" Shivaay sarcastically refused her help.
"I'm not a guest, and you know that!" Anika bitterly stated.
"Oh! So enlighten me with your identity that I'm not aware of!"
"I'm your wife and Ansh's mother, Shivaay!" Anika was on the verge of breaking down. Shivaay looked away from her as he knew that if he continued to look at her, he might embrace her which is the last thing he wants to do.
"Please Anika! Please don't do this! Just tell me why are you here after all these years? Realization hits you?" If sarcasm could kill someone, Anika would have died by each and every word that Shivaay uttered.
"I never wanted to leave in the first place. You made me leave!"
"Because you were a threat to Ansh's life!" He roared, turning around to face her and grabbing her by her shoulders.
