This chapter is reuploaded because the other was messing up and I didn't know what was wrong with it. Enjoy, hopefully it's behaving now<3

---------

On my way out of class, I grabbed my phone to see if Mason's professor had let him out early. Whenever that happened, we tried to meet up before my next class.

Instead of a message from him, I had one missed call from Nate.

It had been a few weeks since his party and the missed calls weren't anything new at this point. I hadn't decided if I wanted to talk to him or not. If I ignored him, I could hold onto my anger.

I swiped Nate's missed call away and texted Mason to see where he was as I walked to our usual meet up spot: the courtyard outside of the history building where I had my next class.

Nate could just text me if he wanted to talk to me that badly. Who called anymore? No one, unless you were Nathan Palmer and trying to annoy me.

Mason finally texted back but he was stuck in class.

I sat on one of the benches, just in case Mason showed up, and grabbed a book from my backpack. A few pages in, someone sat next to me. Instead of seeing Mason like I expected, it was a guy who usually sat near me in history class – Will. He had a group of friends in the class that he'd talk to but occasionally we would chat.

"Hey," he said. "Mind if I sit with you?" When I shook my head, he kept talking, "We had an exam in my last class," Will said and let out an exaggerated sigh.

I smiled. "How did you do?"

He groaned. "I think I tanked it. But I'm probably doing better in that class than I am in this one. Maybe you could tutor me?" he suggested.

"You don't even know if I'm doing okay."

"True," he nodded. "Are you?"

Silently, I mouthed a no and shook my head.

Will continued his suffering sigh. "I'm doomed."

We continued to talk until it was time to walk to class and he started telling me about how he played for the school's hockey team, so it was important he actually did well in his classes.

"What do you mean you've only been to two of our games?" Will asked as we walked. "Two!"

I shrugged. "If I'm going to go to a hockey game, it's when we play Central or I'm going to go to Central to watch them play."

The wind started to pick up and I looked up at the graying sky as we entered the building.

"Ah. Boyfriend plays for them?" Will assumed.

"No, my best friend," I said about Corey.

He looked at me with an eyebrow raised. "Just a best friend?"

I rolled my eyes as I pulled open the classroom door. "He's happily dating my other best friend."

"Central's really good," he said, no longer trying to inquire about my dating life.

I grinned, aware of the fact that Central almost always beat State when they played each other. "They're very good."

Will didn't look amused. "You need some more school pride. You and your friends should come to a game. Cheer for us for once," he suggested as we took a seat next to each other. "We have a game tonight."
