Soup

I finish making soup for Lauren a weird feeling in my stomach really wanting her to like it. It is nothing more fancy than condensed tomato soup heated up and salty crackers though. I bring the soup up my hands warming at the heat of the soup. I knock on the door softly not having stable hands to open the door. In ten seconds the door opens with Lisa there.

"The baby has been waiting for her soup." I look past Lisa being taller than her seeing Lauren smiling sleepily at me. I smile back at her bringing the soup over.

She motions for me to lean in closer like she is going to tell me a secret, "I'm not a baby." She whispers to me and I giggle, partly from her warm breath on my ear, partly from how childish she is being. I feel the goosebumps travel down my spine though as the cold unmoving air hits me again.

"You aren't. You're Lauren. A witty, sarcastic, quiet, mysterious, lovely, and gorgeous girl." I realize I just called the girl I liked gorgeous to her face. That basically is admitting my crush to her. Lauren doesn't seem to notice though as she coughs harshly and away from me hiding her face. When she turns back her cheeks are red, most likely from the coughing.

"You're pretty too Dan Dan." She says hoarsely and I feel my cheeks heat up. I swear thinking of this girl makes me blush.

"I think it is time to go Dani. I'll text you later." Lisa says hurriedly, first reminding me she was there and second confusing me.

Why is she in such a hurry to get rid of me?
