It was like any other normal day for me. Summer wasn't in session anymore, however; school was.
School wasn't really that bad for me since I was friends with half of the school and my grades were pretty average.
I had my own car so I didn't have to walk to school, which is twenty minutes away from my house.
After applying a coat of lip balm, I reached for my bag, slipped my phone into the pocket of my blue jeans and left my room.
My mother was cooking breakfast, as usual and my father was reading the newspaper.
"Good morning sweetie, breakfast?", was my mother's daily morning question.
I have her a slight nod and took a seat at the table next to my father.
My mother passed me a plate with pancakes, scrambled eggs and toast. Along with a glass of orange juice.
It only took me five minutes to finish my breakfast and by the sixth minute, I was out the door.
"Have a good day Madeline", my mothers voice rang out from the kitchen before I shut the front door.
I slide into my car quickly and commenced the car, slowly reversing out of the driveway and foward onto the street, towards school.

"And that all began in 1847, when the British..", my history teacher's voice was interrupted by the school bell. No one bothered to even to let the teacher finish talking, everyone just packed their stuff into their bags and scrambled out of the classroom.
I walked to my locker, which was just outside of the classroom and put away some textbooks. I shut my locker and Lena was standing there.
"Hello Madeline", she exclaimed with a fake smile. We weren't really friends.
"Hello", I responded, watching several students take a glance at us. Lena was very popular and didn't tend to often speak to students like me. Not that I was a loser or anything, well I hoped not. I knew half of the students here so I wouldn't consider myself as much as an outsider. In other words, I wasn't even close to being as popular as Lena.
I gave an awkward facial expression, not knowing what else to say. Lena reached into her most likely expensive purse, digging through it. She pulled out a thick, pink envelope that read: Madeline on the front.
She gave it to me, waiting for me to take it.
I took it from her hand and slipped it into my bag. I already knew what the envelope was.
It was an invitation to her party.
Lena always had a party every month on a Saturday. I had never onced been invited to her party. Up until now.
"Hope to see you there", she lastly said and walked away. Several of students who were my friends, held up the same pink envelope I had received, giving me a small smile.
At least now that I know that some of my friends will be there, I wouldn't be alone.
My best friend, Katie was in Florida, having a family reunion and she had to miss two weeks of school. She'll be back next week though. Her reaction to getting an invitation to Lena's party would have been priceless. It was almost like winning an Oscar.
Everyone wanted to go to one of Lena's amazing parties. She was rich so basically that means that she would have the best of everything at her parties. However, it would take some hard work to convince my parents that this party was important and doesn't involve alcohol but who am I kidding, of course it will.
