I got up steady and calmly, not wanting to make Henry think I was up to anything.

I walked over, beside him and watched as he brought out some vegetables from the fridge. He began to pull them out of the bag when I slowly tried to join him. He set the knife on the other side of him, not giving me a chance to retrieve it.

I pulled out carrots and potatoes, deploying them on the counter. He never made eye contact with me once which was what I wanted.

He turned away for a second, his back facing me, giving me a few seconds to look for another knife.

I opened a drawer beside me carefully and peeked inside.

Sure enough, there weren't any knives.

Disappointed, I opened another one. A sharp enough knife appeared in sight, delighting me in every way.

I tucked the knife into my pocket and covered it with my shirt. I made loud coughing noises as I shut the drawer because it tended to squeak.

I was half way through almost completing my plan. All I had to do was locate where his keys were so when he's injured, I'll be able to snatch the keys and escape more quickly.

I spotted the keys in his right pocket. Bingo.

"You know I love you Maddie. Maybe when we get married, we can have some ki-", I plunged the knife into his neck before he could say another word.

It was all in a sudden but the quicker the better.

There is no way that I would ever marry him or even consider having his children. I'd rather die than do any if that.

"You bitch!", he shouted at me as I reached for his keys. He yanked on my ankle, holding me back from escaping.

I kicked him in the face with my other leg causing him to guard his face with his hands. I scrambled to the door, using the key to unlock it.

Henry was still screaming in pain but I knew if I didn't hurry, I would never be able to escape again.

Click!

The door unlocked. My heart did multiple flips as I ran outside. I looked both ways of the hallway, not knowing which way to go.

Praying that there was a way out this way, I chose the left.

I ran because by now, Henry could be back on his feet on the search for me and I never wanted to be near nor see him again.

I passed several doors but I bothered not to check them.

The hallway stopped, coming to a dead with two doors.

Again I had to make a decision of choosing which way to go.

Let's try right this time.

I unlocked it with the same key which was weird cause every key unlocks every door here.

Mistake number one. I should have chose left.

The room was a room about me.

Everywhere I looked it said "Madeline" or "I love Madeline".

There were pictures of me on every single patch of the wall.

I gazed in horror, frightened at the sight of this.

There were pictures from middle to high school. School dances, field trips, and even lunch. He's like some pysco stalker pervert.

Feeling faint, I leaned against the wall, blinking many times hoping this was all a dream. Except it wasnt.

Disgusted, I turned away from the sight of the pictures, forcing my eyes to a corner.

There was a small door in the clearing.

Curious, I wandered over to it. I crouched down since it wasn't as wide and tried opening it.

It wouldn't open but there was a button next to it. I pressed it and a loud noise sounded as the door began to slide up.

A light appeared inside the what seemed to look like a large box, almost like a elevator shaft.

I was tempted to go in it and see where it would lead be but that would be a big risk.

"Oh Madeline, you can run but you can't hide", Henry's voice sounded from near.

Maybe on second thought I will see if this will lead me somewhere away from him.

I stuffed my body inside, which seemed to fit very well. I examined buttons and decided to press up, figuring that we must be at the bottom.

The machine started up, making loud noises at first and then decreased.

I could feel it go up, slowly but making progress.

This is actually a pretty neat thing to have though. It's convenient.

I assumed that I was at the top considering that it made a sing sound and the door began sliding up.

I began to crawl out when I was pulled out by two arms, very quickly.

I shrieked in terror knowing it was Henry in a heartbeat.

How the hell did he get up here so quickly?
