We walk for a while and the girl stops us.

"Stay here, I'm gonna get the boss," she orders. She doesn't bother to tell me to stay after all she knows that I wouldn't run with Vitus holding my sister and her dragging Flav. Even though she does give me a warning glance and purposely makes Flav's head hit a tree root.

I looked at her retreating figure and then dared to whisper to rat face, "what's her deal?"

"Oh, you mean Hayat? She isn't from here, her parents worked in the government but when they saw her date they left her on the streets."

There was slight rustling and Hayat returned with another person wearing a brown hood, the 'boss'. When they said the boss I expect someone round, stubby-fingered, scratchy mustache, wearing a tie, and bearing greedy small eyes. Or a woman with a hooked nose glasses perched over them even if she didn't need them wearing a tight suit dress, makeup and looking like the mix between an owl and a hawk. However, this person was tall, lean and looked a few years my senior even though you couldn't see his face as it was in the shadows.

I looked at Hayat again with new eyes but then saw Flav was seen with a mean bump on his head now on his own to feet but looking drowsy and a bit loony. Alarmed, I asked in a voice full of concern, "Is he okay?" Hayat elbows him "Oh, him yeah he'll be fine", she says looking at him as if he was worth less than the gum that I used to be forced to scrape off the toilet cubicle walls.

Vitus nudges me slightly with his shoulder and signaling the boss. I give him a questioning look and in the eerie silence asking, "What am I supposed to bow to you or something?" I here Vitus snigger: I decided to call him Vitus for now as I didn't want to slip and insult him while he was holding my sister.

I hear a gruff but muffled voice say assertively "date?" I sigh these people seriously didn't know what the word classified or private meant. "It's not like I'd lie about it," I argue but I'm only responded with silence I can only imagine the unimpressed look he is sending me from under the hood. I sulk but show him my tattoo he didn't do anything unimpressed.

"Name?" he asked completely disinterested from my past answer.

"Her names, Don't touch me" replies Vitus snarkily- if he continues on I might go back to calling him rat face. The boss turns his head around to the smirking Vitus, he quickly inclines his head to the floor. He turns back to me I think if this man had the respect he must deserve it as little as I know Vitus I know that he wouldn't follow someone that he thought he was better than. The way he acts shows that he holds himself highly, he probably uses violence or brains. I don't want to deal with either, I sigh submitting and answer "Chaya". He nods his head the biggest reaction I have got from him.

"What's your name?" I quiz. After a few moments of stillness and I whine "It's only fair you get to know my name and date. If you aren't going to tell me your name at least tell me your date as you guys seem so casual about it." He stiffens and even Hayat's eyes widen and both her and Vitus shrink back as if he was the missile and I was the target. I wonder what I said wrong, so they can ask all the questions but I can't.

After all of us watching him as if was a ticking bomb he turns around. Hayat mouths to follow him. I try to move my feet that had now gone numb from standing.
