The world is in chaos; people struggle to survive in vaults underground as a deadly plague ravages earth. But there are others who walk the now barren world, others like Cam Morrington. Unaware of this, Cam struggles to survive in a world where he believes he is alone. Sisters Helena and Hayleigh Averdy find their selves in the same situation when they escape from the hell they know as the Vaults. Little do they know, life aboveground may be even worse than life below. This is the story of these people, the world, and the end of life as we knew it.

It is now the year of 3015. A whole century has past. Cannibalism controls every thought, every action that anyone makes. Survival reigns over the land and all its occupants with an unforgiving hold. The extinction of the human race are kept on the brink of control thanks to the military. And the Damned. They eat their own birth race. Ethically, they are human. In the 20th century, these monsters were called cannibals. The Damned contain no soul, no consciousness, no glimmer of anything essentially human. Except their appearance. They have lured many humans out like bears being attracted to honey. Then, they devour us. Cooked, mashed, half-alive, it doesn't matter. Humans are food. Livestock that has found a way to survive temporarily. Humanity's population is not even 1/9ths of what it had been in our most glorious days on the 20th century. The wickedness of man is unending. These animals formed their own pack that was eventually dubbed as the Damned. Slowly but surely, the Damned consumed us. We, what was left of us, retreated to two corners of every continent -- the East and West Coasts. There, humans only have to fight on one front because the Damned cannot come in contact with salt water. They burn. Perhaps it is a manifestation of their sins. Either way, humanity has held up their end for so long, but our population is decreasing. Less babies are born every year, and the death rate continues to rise. Humanity is nearly extinct. Soon, the word human will be history. However, if the Damned think we are going without a fight, they are wrong. It is time to make humanity's last stand.

In a time of distress on Earth, where do they turn to? Space. Scientists searched in thousands of solar systems for planets in a Goldilocks zone, sending representatives to each planet to search the unknown and report back in five years and tell if the planet is fit for human life. What the humans don't consider are the effects when someone tries to expand beyond the atmosphere into unknown worlds. On the other side of the universe, an unknown species commits a genocide to a planet that was home for millions. In an attempt to save their species, a man puts a young child, Stella Trill, into a small pod ship that will bring her to another planet to hide and grow up alone. The three year old spends seven years alone on this new planet: Kepler-22b. Then in her tenth year, her lonely life isn't so lonely anymore. *Kepler-22b is an actual planet that has the potential to sustain life*
