Ethan

Ethan was tired. He was sweaty and cold, even in the horrific heat. Most of the horde was dead at his feet, the heavy AK weighing down in his hands.

The shout scared him and he swung his gun round, pointing it at the man that was sprinting towards him. It almost took him too long to realise who it was. His finger moved from the trigger as he took in the sight of the deshevilled Matthias.

"Matt." He replied, letting out a sigh. He allowed the gun to fall to his side as he clocked the small toddler in Matt's arms. "Oh Luna." He whispered, seeing the young girl in distress. He took a few steps towards them, eyes scanning the horizon. "Where is Amanda? Is she..." Matt cut Ethan off quickly enough with a shake of his head.

"Missing. Not dead. I took Luna with me to PAX but Amanda didn't want to come." He was shaking, holding Luna. "I was heading back but Luna is hungry, she keeps on crying if I put her down."

Ethan nodded, fishing in the backpack he had slung over his back. "I have some stuff. Even if I can't eat it, hopefully Luna will enjoy it." He pulled out a pack of cookies, offering one to the girl. She grinned happily, chewing on the cookie.

Silence echoed between them.

"We should stick together." Matt finally said, moving Luna to his hip.

Ethan took a deep breath and ran a hand through his blue hair. He'd really have to get his hands on some brown hair dye soon.

"Look, Matt. I would say we should, but you have a kid. You two should try and get to safety, not look for Amanda." Ethan gulped, taking his pistol from his waist. "Take this. And the cookies. Just make sure you get moving."

Matt went to protest but was cut off by a deep groan behind him. Too close. Far too close.

A zombified hand grabbed his leg, teeth barely missing him.

"Move!" Someone else yelled and Matt jumped away, rushing behind Ethan. J-Fred was there, slamming down on the crawlers head with a sledgehammer.

"Joey?" Matt whispered as Luna reached for her uncle.

"Hey big brother. Glad to see you are alive." He smiled, heavy hammer resting on his shoulder.

"Maybe we should stick together?" Ethan hummed, knowing there was a strong safety in numbers.

They all could sleep.

They could get out of here together.

Georgia

Chica was a lot of help. She was good at hunting down food, and chasing away the zombies that strayed too close.

"Chica." Georgia hummed, calling the beautiful dog to her side. "Maybe we should look for somewhere to rest tonight?" Another good thing, Chica was a very good space heater when the Los Angeles air got too cold. Georgia hated to sleep, but it was needed.

The two of them made their way into a home, checking it over very quickly. It was clear, with locks still working on the doors.

"Good choice." Georgia whispered as she climbed onto the couch, pulling a blanket over her and Chica. Her stomach rumbled, but food would have to wait. Rest first, then they could eat the food that she had stored in her pack.

It was going to be a good night.
