APARTMENT NO 13

Episode 01

Prologue

The man, John Cadre returned to Paris looking for job. Paris is one of the busiest cities of the world. A city where everyone is in rush. Everyone is moving with tensions, stress, hurry, depression. Not only it is the busy city but also a city of love. John Cadre who has been broke after the case to Kyle Jennifer, forgotten everything. He is also a superstition, obviously not soon after the birth but from the day his girlfriend left. It was 13th, the day she left him. So he always believed that 13 is the unluckiest number ever.

Episode

"Hey there. Where i can get a rental apartment?", asked John to a pedestrian.

"You can get one in that building. It is a new building so its price is not much high and are booking too fast as the facilities are best",replied pedestrian.

"Thank You, Sir"

He goes into the new building and asks for an apartment."Yes Sir. There is one. Sufficient for one or two people and one of best in our building.",replies manager and takes him to show rooms"this way, sir".

Manager opened the lock and after seeing whole room John was much pleased by it especially the balcony and the windows which were on perfect places opening a way for natural light and atmosphere to keep alive. He paid the deposit and both of them come out of room talking and he notices the number on the apartment's door. And it was Apartment No. 13. And John's full mood was spoiled and he denied to stay in that apartment and asked manager to show any other room or he can leave the building after much requesting of manager also John was not pleased and manager handed him the keys of apartment No. 15 which was exactly opposite to No. 13.

All was going smooth. John got job in one of the best multinational company. And as per his plan, he was all way apart from 13. John was so much suppressed by 13 that he never stepped out of his home on 13s. He always took full day holiday from his job By doing an overnight a day before but never went office on 13s.

It was 13th of May. Summer, a season of vacations, enjoyment, family fun and much more. But as it was 13 John was at his room. But that day happened an unusual thing. John had ordered food for him on his apartment but as the delivery boy was new he has to go downstairs to recieve his parcel. John was out in his night suits.

Clock strikes 1 pm. John waited there 10 minutes and his parcel arrived and as soon as he received parcel without spending much time outside, he was rushing upstairs and was hit by a lady on the reception. A beautiful lady with brown eyes, medium sized chocolate brown hair, short heighted who had prettiest smile was able to please John in few minutes. John stared at her for moments and as soon as he realised he fell down, felt embarrassed and got up in hurry spoiling his whole food and again falling. Lady laughed at him and went upstairs with manager to look for apartment. John was not able to remove his eyes from her. He rushed upstairs and he was much lucky that she bought the apartment exactly opposite to john's. He much happier than any other day he could be.

He went into his room and got ready. Second unusual thing happened that day. As it was 13 John never went out so he never got ready on 13s. He was all day with his night suits but that day it was different John got ready and full day waited for lady to open her room and come outside so he could talk. John was siting next to his door so that as soon as he hears a door opening sound can go out and have a conversation. It was 5pm in the evening and John was losing hope to have an impression on her. But his hope prooved right and the girl came out.

A pretty pinkish frock with straightened hair and brown eyes was the most pleasant thing John saw whole day. He was again not able to get his eyes out from her face. She noticed and smiled. She looked down and walked away. John was still standing on his door and imagining beauty in his mind. Few moments passed, John was still thinking of that smile she passed walking away. John started thinking that she might also have some feelings for him. He decided to ask her for a date. He practised whole time waiting her to come back. It was 10 pm she returned. John went out of his apartment as she was opening her room.

John again continuously stared at the cute face without saying a single word. As soon as John could make a move, girl asked, "Do you want something". "No-- no-- nothing", replied John nervously. She nodded her head and was going inside, but suddenly he said,"Actually", She again opened door halfway listening to John. "Actually I want to ask you that-- that", he fumbled again. "You want to ask what?", she again interrupted with a smile. She got an idea this time. "I want to ask ṭhaṭ can I get a cup of sugar, actually I have none left", said John fastly and hurriedly. "Wait I'll get it for you" she was surprised and smiled and went inside to get him sugar.

"I want a cup of sugar? I mean really. Who asks that instead of a date? Oh John you are totally dumb. And what was that I have none left? None sugar left? Seriously?" John talking to himself. She comes with a cup of sugar and gives him. She says by and was ready to close the door but again John interrupted. "Can you go with a date with me tomorrow. I mean only a meeting or get together as we are neighbours we should know each other well. So can we?", asked John. "Yeah we should know. But?", she gave a long pause. "But?", interrupted John. "Okay tommorow evening coffee?", she replied. "Perfect. Infact coffee is my favourite drink.", said John. "So, now bye", she said closing the door halfway. "What's your name?", John again interrupted. "My name is Rachel. Rachel Locke.", she replied. "Rachel. What a pretty name!", John exclaimed with a smile. "Bye", she agains closes the door. "Good bye, good night", says John. And comes reverse and gets hit by his door, she smiles and close the door and John felt happy and embarrassed at the same time. John was very much excited for next day.
