If you came here looking for a cute heroic story where the weirdo kid goes on a magical quest, saves the world and then gets with hottest girl in school, then you should leave right now. Because you have certainly came to the wrong place. Despite what all the books have told you, saving the world does not magically make your life better. However it does give you an annoying companion who does nothing but nag at you because she is jealous that she wasn't the chosen one. Yes i'm talking about you Cassie. (You do too nag at me! Hey hitting is not nice! Ugh could you not i'm trying to tell a story here. So what of no one hears. Can you just let me finish my turn? Thank you.)
Sorry about that. That’s Cassie by the way. I won’t tell you too much about her. She’d probably kill me anyway. I suppose I should introduce myself. My names Declan Lewis. I’m 16. Umm I like computers. Hmm let’s see. I'm about 5’9. I have curly black
hair. I should get that trimmed it’s always getting in my eyes. (Alright! Alright! Sorry Cassie was yelling at me again. I get off track sometimes.) Anyway where was I? Oh right. Let’s see. I have green eyes. Im super tan and have huge muscles. I’m talking
giant- (Ow! Cassie that was mean! Fine, fine jeez take a joke.) I’m pretty much the opposite. Super pale and skinny. Anyway that’s me. Moving on.
So now that we got that out of the way let’s get to the actual story shall we?
It started my sophomore year of highschool when I was walking home from school. It was just like any other day. It was a Thursday I think.
School had just let out and so I grabbed my bag and made my way out of the classroom. I snaked my way through the sea of students keeping my head low in order
to avoid everyone. I successfully made it out the school alive. I snuck around the back of the building to the woods that lead directly to my house. I love going through there. It's rather calming. Sometimes I sneak out here at night. (Yes Cassie I do. Why does that surprise you?)
Anyway like I was saying. I was heading home when I tripped over something. (It’s not funny. It happens to everyone). I first assumed it was a stick or something. But
when I look down at my feet I saw a chain wrapped around my ankle. I should of kicked it off and walked away. I could of just gone on with my life. But as you know, curiosity
killed the cat. Or well in this case curiosity dragged the kid into a mess of things and ruined his perfectly normal life. So yeah I picked up the chain to examine it. Turns out it
wasn't just a chain. It was an amulet. I ran my fingers over the purple gem. It wasn’t something i've ever seen before. Suddenly I felt something burning my hand. I screamed and dropped the amulet. I looked down at my hand to inspect the burn. It was
worse than I thought. I only held for a couple seconds before I dropped it. However the burn looked like I held for a much longer period of time. Even weirder, it was just a
normal burn mark. It was in the shape of an eye. And I don't mean that it just barely resembled an eye. It actually looked like an eye. On my hand there was an oval shaped
burn. Inside it was a circle, and inside that a smaller, filled in circle. I touched it. My hand still felt smooth, as if nothing was there.
I got up and brushed off the dirt me. I took off my bag and grabbed a piece of notebook paper. I picked up the amulet using the paper in order to prevent in more potential burnings. I then quickly dropped the amulet in my backpack, quickly zipping it
up as if the amulet was going to jump out at me. I slung my backpack back on and started heading back home. I took only a step forward before I heard a sudden snap off in the distance. I froze in my spot.
“Hello?”
Silence. I looked around the woods and saw nothing. I cautiously took another step. Still nothing.
When I thought it was safe once again I heard another snap, but before I could react, someone had grabbed my arm. I tried to pull away, but I was yanked back and thrown to the ground.
