It was a peaceful evening in an island in south blue. You were wiping your sweat off your forehead as you walked around the market, searching for fishes and meat.
"How is you grandmother, (y/n)?" A fishmonger asked and you beamed.
"Moody, but she is healthy as always." and you grinned.
You are living the normal life, raised by your grandma and you worked in a nursery where you help the caretaker taking care and sometimes teaching the kids of the village.
"Send my regards to her." The fishmonger said as she passed over cuts of tuna in paper wrap and you nodded before walking back to you house. You were thinking of cooking some curry and remembered there is some udon left in the fridge.
Your grandma's house is pretty isolated, a little in the outskirt of the village and facing the sea. Everyday, grandma will sit on the bench outside, looking at the sea, just as she always does when your grandpa, a marine, was alive.
As you walked into the house, you set the groceries on the square dining table and took an apron, wearing it.
"Grandma I bought some tuna. I'm going to make fish curry udon okay?" You yelled from the kitchen, as usual everytime you got back from the wet market.
Usual, daily life routine. You stared blankly at the kitchn wall, as you washed the tuna and onion, somehow in the back of your head, you are tired of the same routine.
"But I dont like udon curry." A voice called out and the fish slices in your hand fell into the sink.
You turn around and see him, looking at you and you scrunched your face, on the verge of tears.
"Hey (y/n)."
You rushed towards the blond haired man, with the stupid blue mask of him which you always criticize and he opened his arm to welcome you in his arms.
"Stupid Kira. You dont feel the need to reply our letter, is it?" You banged the bowl on the table as your grandma walked into the kitchen, beaming with Kira in the house.
"Dont call me that."
"You will always be our darling Kira." Grandma grabbed your elder brother's shoulder, smiling.
"Take off that stupid mask of yours. We are eating." You said as you finished seating up the table for lunch and scooped a plate of rice for him.
"But I never took my mask off-" His objection fell short when grandma also signaled for him to take it off. Heavy heartedly, he took off his mask, and you smiled, looking at his face which resembled your grandpa.
"I thought we are having curry udon?" Grandma asked and Kira grimaced.
"How is life?" You asked as all three of you were eating.
Kira opened his mouth in protest but you cut him off "just... leave out the pirate-ing part. How are you."
"We always kept your wanted poster, you know." Grandma said with a smile.
"It's good. We are going off to Sabaody.... and to the new world." He whispered the last part of his sentences.
The kitchen turned quiet. Both you and grandma stopped eating, and you leaned back on the chair, nodding.
"New.. world? But it will be different out there, it's much ruthless than the south blue, the people there are mean and more ruthless-" grandma stumbled over her words, "your grandpa died there" she pursed her lips and you sighed slowly.
"Grandma.." you held her hand on the table, tightly. Kira also did, with her other hand.
"Kira is a grown man. We know how he is. He is our favorite hero." You said, felt a swelling in your chest. You know letting Kira go into the New World would means years without seeing him. When he and the Kid Pirates in South Blue, Kira has no problem coming back once in a few months. But now..
