Dean turned down the music, and rolled down the window.

"Get in the car!"

Cas walked over, and got in the passenger seat of the car.

"I need your help, Dean. There is a monster on the loose... it escaped from the Hawkins Lab in       Indiana. The thing has killed many humans there, and I fear the worst for the world as we know it if anything else escapes. I heard that the scientists were experimenting on wolves, and-"

" Where the hell have you been?!? "

"I'm sorry, Dean. I have been so anxious for a case since... since I lost most of my powers... to      Lucifer"

"Bullshit! You could have called or - or freaking given us a sign that you were okay! Do you know how worried I - we have been?!"

"How long was I gone?"

"Too damn long."

Dean looked back towards the road, telling himself

Man up don't you cry in front of Cas. He's been through hell for you, cut him some slack. He looks damn good in that trenchcoat I gave him, though. Surprised he kept it all these years.

"Dean..."

  Dammit.

"Dean I am sorry. I hope you can forgive me. I knew if I talked to you then that the Hellhounds would figure out where you were. They were following me, trying to get to you. "

A miserable expression made its home on Castiel' s face, and Dean turned to look at him. Glancing at his lips, Dean put his hand on Cas' shoulder.

"Don't worry about it buddy. I'm here for ya - no matter what. You're family.

I love you

I - we care about you. Sammy and I won't let you down."

Of course he didn't say it. He never freaking did. Dean was too afraid of rejection to ever say it. But he meant it. With every longing glance, and every time he stared deep into those ocean blue eyes. Every time he had prayed to Cas, and helped him get ready for that "date" that turned out badly. Dean loved Cas. And he could do nothing about it.

Cas turned to Dean, turning pink and causing him to do the same, and whispered a

     "Thank you Dean"

The rain began pouring down, so hard that it was difficult to see through the windshield of the Baby. As luck would have it, the Impala's engine died soon after the downpour began.

     "Dammit!"

"I am sorry, Dean. "

"It wasn't your fault. Just... let me think okay? The battery's dead and cars are gonna crash into us if we don't move her out of the road. I saw a motel a little ways back, so... I guess we can stay there."

They made their way towards the motel

They made their way towards the motel. It was slow work, but Dean refused to let his Baby stay by the side of the road, to get stolen or broken into. Yes it was paranoid, but Dean loved his car almost as much as he loved, well, Cas. Dean knew he loved Castiel the day he met him. It just wasn't something he could control. Looking over at Cas as they continued to push the car, Dean felt like a teenager with a crush.

the hell is wrong with me?

Dean thought as he caught himself staring at Cas, watching as the rain somehow made his hair look even more amazing. At that moment, Dean wanted nothing more than to run his hands through that hair and kiss him until he was breathless.

There we go again, dumbass. He probably doesn't even like dudes! Much less you. Just stop thinking about it. Its never gonna happen.

"Is there something wrong Dean?"

"No, sorry, I was just thinking... About what we are gonna do about this Hawkins thing" he lied.

(Castiel) Dean is acting strange. I hope he is not too angry with me. I tried my best to protect him, but he just yelled at me. Now he won't stop staring at me... I wonder if he ...

"Here it is, the Rainbow Motel. What kind of gay freaking place is this?"

"What is 'gay'  Dean?"

Dean turned deep red as he tried to explain what it meant.

"Well... uh... Do your own freaking research, Cas. Look it up."

"Oh."

"Come on, lets go get a couple rooms."

Out of breath from pushing the Impala, Dean and Cas found a place for Baby to go, and made their way to the main office. Walking across the parking lot in the rain, they were huddled together. Close enough to feel each other's breath. Close enough to hold hands.

Cas got to the door first, and opened it. A bell rang, and a lady in her late forties walked up to the desk, and said:

"Welcome to the Rainbow Motel. Which room will you boys be using?"

"Oh. We - we're not together. We just need two rooms"

"If ya say so. A damn shame, though. Each room is... six hundred dollars a piece, but I can get you boys a discount  "

"... Fine."

" This is fucking ridiculous" Dean muttered, throwing himself under the alcove outside the motel, just in front of the door of a room. He stole a glance at Cas, and for some reason, he couldn't wipe this stupid smile off his face. The rain was pounding down; it had soaked them from head to toe. Ties sticking to the front of their white button-down shirts, trenchcoats soaked beyond repair.

"Dammit, Cas!" he yelled, voice cracking.

"I don't understand, Dean" Cas said, feeling confused and, to be honest, hurt.

Dean turned to Cas, who was standing beside him, looking dejected. Suddenly the angel looked up at him, with the brightest ocean - blue eyes Dean had ever seen, watching the rain trickle down from his hairline to his perfect jawline.

"Personal space, remember? Back up. I can't focus with you so close to me!"

"Maybe that's the point"

"Wha-"
