It was 8pm and we all sat around the tree drinking hot chocolate watching Christmas movies. I found myself cuddled up with Ace, sharing a blanket. We had gone through 3 movies before I started drifting off to sleep.
"Good night kitten" I heard before I let the darkness consume me.
4 days later!!!
It was Christmas Eve!!! There were many presents under the tree. It was late and everyone was out getting last minute gifts and I was stuck at home because I was so excited, I bought at least 100 gifts last week.
I decided to go see Tony since I had nothing else to do. I pulled up to the hospital and the nurse recognised me from earlier So she let me through to see him. Still in the same condition, my mood dropped.... I just hope he wakes up soon. I dragged a chair next to him and held his hand in mine. I didn't even know this boy and I already felt a strong connection. I heard that you can hear people talk to you when your in a coma so I started telling him stories about me and Ace. About the time when Ace stole the McDonald's from the mall, when I bought the house for Ace and his friends, when i first came home, how my eyes glow different colors, and the little dares we had after halloween. I couldn't help but laugh at how Ace ran from Tiny and Princess. I laid my head on the bed side and just sung, I didn't feeling like talking about gang stuff or crimes. I felt relaxed and at peace.
"You are my sunshine, My only sunshine, You make me happy, We skies are grey."
I quietly sung rubbing my thumb on the back of his hand. I couldn't help but feel sad, I wouldn't know how to control myself if it was my mom or Chloe or my girls on this bed right now. Ace is so strong to be able to last and survive on his own while still being able to keep his brother here. My eyes turned a vibrant blue as my eyes welled up with tears. Why does the worst happen to the best of people. I blinked my tears back and squeeze his hand.
"You'll never know dear, how much I love you Please don't take my sunshine away."
I felt a little pressure on my hand, my head snapped up to see familiar blue eyes looking back at me.
"Hello?"
Tony said and instantly covered his mouth when his voice came out deeper and hoarse. I shook out of my shocked state and shot up to go to the water fountain in the room and filled up a cup. I handed it to him and went back to get two more. He downed them all before looking back at me.
"Are you Jazmine?" He asked.
"Yes, Tony, I'm Jazmine" I said quietly, not knowing how to approach this situation.
He smiled and suddenly wrapped his arms around my neck.
