He told me to text him if I need anything. So I figure I should test that theory, looks like sooner rather than later.
Hey so...I need something.
New phone, who dis?
Uh, Raelynn?
Girl, I'm kidding. What's up?
Well you see, somehow... my car battery died. So I could use a ride and a jump.
That was quick. We just met.
Get your mind out of the gutter weirdo. I barely know you. I had to get a ride home so my jeep is at the office. But I'll need it to get to work in the AM.
I knew what you meant ;) sort of. You ready to go now?
Yeah I'll head over there.
Now who's mind is in the gutter.
I was honestly not expecting him to be ready at the drop of a hat. It's six thirty, so hopefully some of the evening rush hour traffic has improved.
Walking across the lawn I realize I maybe shouldn't have changed into such relaxing clothes post work, but I couldn't help it, really. Prop's to the people who can stand to wear professional clothes all day, and then go home and their "casual" isn't that much different.
Although I didn't feel quite as bad when I saw Nate, strolling to his vehicle in a cut-off t-shirt and basketball shorts. Looking fine I might add...
Timing wasn't bad as I stepped into his lawn the garage door started opening. Revealing multiple cars, but one in particular caught my eye.
I can't help it if I'm a car girl people. Honestly if I won the lottery, the second thing I would do is go crazy on cars. And that one coming out of the garage at the moment is definitely on the list of cars that would be purchased.
Blacked out 2018 Lincoln Navigator. Like there isn't even a Lincoln dealer close back home, but I'd occasionally see them around town with all the rich people coming in to ski.
Nate is an athlete so it makes sense, I guess. Doesn't make me any less jealous though.
Hopping into the Navigator my jaw can't help but drop. It is literally gorgeous.
"Just tell me now. There are downsides to being friends with you right? Because so far... I'm not seeing any"
His deeper laugh, still not a downside to him, erupted from him. "Give it a few months, you'll see plenty, I think."
I'm not going to argue there. I guess he's got a point that I haven't even known him that long. Let alone long enough to know his less attractive qualities.
"So how was your first day at the big wig job?"
"Not so bad, I guess. Major intake of information, but my direct boss seems like a really good guy, some of the other employees are questionable. But I'll know with time I suppose."
"Better than a bad first day."
He's got a point there.
"And what were you doing all day?" I had a slight idea of when baseball started, but it's not like Wyoming has their own MLB team.
"We have recommended off season workouts. So, me and the guys did that this morning and went to the batting cages this afternoon. Trying to ensure pre-season training isn't as painful as I think it will be."
"Well it's a good thing you're an athlete. Just the thought of that makes me want to crawl in bed for at least a day."
"I actually did the work out. So, does that mean I can join you in said bed?" If it wasn't for the beautiful smile that graced his face, I would have thought he was serious.
