Practice was over and I was getting more worried by the second. How was I supposed to go to dinner with the Captains and them not find out I was a girl? It was impossible. I didn't have a brother or friend I could send for me. I had to tell them. I decided to take off my pads and put on an old hockey jersey that was waaayyyy to big without pads. I put on my warmup pants from back home and put my helmet back on. I waited till everyone was out of the boys locker room and I saw Jaden lock the door from outside. Kris was standing next to him and no one was in the hall. I decided it was the right time to tell them.
"Hey Mike. Wait why are you coming out of the girls room? And why do you still have your helmet on?" Kris asked me.
I didn't say anything, just lifted off my helmet that I hadn't rebuckled. Kris looked frustrated with himself and Jaden's eyes became wide in shock.
"I-I knew it!" he yelled, "I absolutely knew there was something about you that was unordinary!"
"Please don't make me stop tryouts," I begged, " I truley love hockey and i just want to play. You don't have to tell anyone just please, please, please let me play."
Kris and Jaden looked at each other with concerned looks and started to whisper to each other. They turned back to me and explained, "We have had a girl on this team before and it was the one of the biggest mistakes the old Captains made but you seem like you want to play, not get attention. Tomorrow we'll do the weight room. If you show us you want to be treated like a member of the team, you'll make it. If you are more intrested in the guys and youself than hockey, you will not be joining our team. Understood?"
I nodded my head yes.
"Oh, and you have to change in the boys locker room," Jaden said with a small grin spreading across his face.
"Fine," I replied with a grin spreading across my face.
*The next day*
I was so excitied for tryouts again, I got up before my alarm. I got up and blow dried my hair cause I washed it last night. I wanted to make a female friend today and girls judge on looks the first time they see you, so I also straighted my hair which took forever. I had packed my hockey bag and backpack lat night so I only had to eat and get ready. I actually put on mascara and liquid eyeliner for a fifth time and it came out really good. Well the Queen of Makeup, McKenna, taught me well I guess. I put on white shorts an a coral tank top that is crossed in the back. And no, that wasn't my top. I maybe might have taken it from Kenna's room.
I ran downstairs and ate an untoasted ( don't judge ) bagel with butter. Real healthy right? Then I looked at the clock and we still had half an hour till we leave. So I sat down and watched an episode of Pretty Little Liars. Wow, today I felt like a girly girl... ew.
Picture of Dylan (Lucas Till) on the side or above. I know he hasn't been mentioned much but I thought of that while writing this chapter so yeah...
