I kicked off my shoes by the door and walked towards my bedroom. I was so exhausted from running around all day and trying to figure out what those photos of Nyrie meant and who was the woman that sent them to me. I was stopped in my tracks as I heard a knock on the door. Who could this be, I wondered. I turned around and walked towards the door. I looked through the peephole and sighed when I saw who it was.

It was my no good ass brother who I barely spoke too.

"Baby brother," he yelled as I opened the door.

"What brings you to this side of town," I asked, already becoming annoyed.

"You're not gonna let me in"

I moved out of the way so he could walk into my apartment.

"Nice place you have here, it could be bigger if you joined the team," he said.

I look him up and down in his Vera wang shirt, balmain jeans and givenchy loafers. He was always too flashy for me. But flashy or not he was a millionaire and I couldn't hate on him for that.

"Nah I'm good, what you want"

"You know why I'm here baby bro, I need a favor, just like all of the other favors I ever needed, and you know my favors pay well," he said.

"I told you last time that it was the last time and I meant that"

"One million dollars"

I froze and looked at him like he was crazy. My brother had to be out of his mind if he thought for a second I believed that he was going to put one million dollars in my hand.

"You and I both know that will never happen," I said.

"Don't insult me baby bro. You know a million dollars is nothing to me, I can throw it in the trash if I wanted to"

"But you wouldn't"

"But I can"

"Look, you can let yourself out the same way you came. Thanks for the offer but no thanks," I said.

"Rather or not you do it, the job will get done, so why not just take the offer. I wouldn't want to go around you, that wouldn't be loyal, now would it," he asked.

"Why would you care, you don't have a loyal bone in your body, Damien."

He looked at me with eyes that could kill. I know that me calling him by his first name would make him angry and that's why I did it.

"I think I better go now," he said

He stopped before he got to the door and turned around to face me.

"Brother or no brother, my name is king to you," he spat

"Lock the door behind you," I said

He knew I wasn't afraid of him. I don't know why he continued to put on this act when he came around like I wouldn't easily beat his ass. He was about 5"11, compared to my 6"3. I outweighed him by at least 50 pounds, and I was a professional kick boxing fighter. He knew better.

I walked towards my room and pulled the yellow envelope from under my pillow and scattered the photos out on my bed. Whoever sent me these wanted me to know about Nyrie but yet I still didn't really understand. All of the photos were numbered and they all were different. She even was fat on one of them and on another she had on a mail carrier uniform and the list just went on.

But one did catch my eye. On one of the photos she was at the park playing with two little kids and she looked so happy. Did Nyrie have kids? What did all of this mean? The moment I received the pictures I knew something wasn't right and I put one of my guys on her but he had no luck on finding her, or anything about her so far.

I gathered the photos up and placed them back into the envelope. I pulled out my phone and called the number Nyrie called me from the day. I even called her cell number. But no luck.

"Fuck," I yelled!
