ZAYNS POV

____________

"Wake up Mike, we're here" I say softly, shaking my best friends shoulder.

Even though it wasn't a long ride, Mike had crashed about five minutes in. He got some well needed sleep so I guess it's all good.

"I'm.. I'm up" Mike yawns, stretching out his long, toned arms.

"Good" I laugh.

Both Mike, and I, grab our bags and walk off the bus.

"Where to, now?" Mike asks, after a few minutes of walking down a small street.

"Well, you have money, right?" I ask cautiously.

"Yeah.. I thought we were saving for.. You know," Mike says, still a little tired. Mike and I sort our money; we have some for food, some for shelter, and some for... Well things you wouldn't want to know.

"We need clothes, man" I laugh.

"We can't stay in the same clothes everyday, especially if we're starting school." I add, remembering I forgot to tell him.

"Streets!? When did you plan on telling me this?" Mike hisses, stoping in front of me.

"I meant to, but Rider called into the school, and registered us.." I say quietly.

"Rider isn't our legal guardian, Streets." Mike points out in a matter-of-fact way.

"I know" I sigh. I know lying wouldn't be a great start but we need to go back, and get things normal again.

We continue walking down the road in silence. Mike still soaking in the thoughts of school.

"So" I say clearing my throat.

"How much do you have?" I ask. Obviously referring back to the money.

"A lot.. I guess" Mike whispers, staring at his feet.

Now it's my turn to stop in front of him.

"Mike, what exactly is a lot" I ask, anger apparent in my voice. I swear, if He was hiding things from me...

"A couple dousndins" he mutters.

"A couple what" I push on. My patience wearing thin.

"A couple thousand, okay?!" Mike ask, stuffing his hands in his pocket and walking past me.

A couple thousand! Where did this come from, and why didn't he tell me before? Did he not trust me? Did he steal it?

I jog up to Mike, and put a hand on his shoulder, stoping him.

"Where did you get it?" I asks, quietly, knowing that if I'm mean, I won't get anything out of him.

"Why do you care" he scoffs, rolling his eyes.

"Where, Mike" I say in a harsh whisper.

"It's from my mom.." He mutters, barely audible.

His mom? Had he been seeing her without telling me..? What else is he keeping from me?

"She had it in savings for me, I took it before we left" he adds.

"Does she know..?" I ask, walking in front of him.

Mike nods.

I take my lip between my teeth, and nod, walking away.

Soon enough Mike catches up and is walking by my side again.
