Can't live without you.

Chapter 8

"Daddy!" Jisung squealed and jumped onto his father's chest. Jaehyun let out a groan,

"Hi, buddy!" Jaehyun said, the sleep still evident in his voice.

"I missed you!" Jisung replied snuggling into his dad's chest,

"I missed you too, bubs," Jaehyun said stroking his sons back.

Taeyong smiled and looked at Jaemin who was wiping tears from his face. Jeno stood behind Jaemin back hugging him. 

"Papa! Daddy's home!" Jisung said excitedly and Taeyong laughed,

"I know he is baby. Are you so happy?" Taeyong asked the toddler,

"Jisung is so happy!" the toddler said jumping up and down on the bed,

"Alright calm down, let's give your dad's some privacy," Jaemin said scooping the excited boy up.

"Nooooo," Jisung whined making grabby hands towards Jaehyun,

"Bubba, go with uncle Jaemin. Daddy will come to play with you later, ok?" Jaehyun said,

"Otay," Jisung said and let Jaemin take him out of the bedroom.

Once Jisung left the room, Jaehyun turned back to Taeyong.

"I missed him. I forgot how much energy he had," Jaehyun laughed,

"Try dealing with him for 7 months alone," Taeyong said laughing, but his laugh turned into a sad smile.

"Baby, look at me," Jaehyun said turning Taeyong to face him, "Stop blaming yourself. Me leaving isn't your fault. None of this is your fault. You did everything in your power to parent Jisung alone. It's my fault that I didn't come home earlier. I should've told them that I needed to be with my family earlier," he said looking Taeyong in the eyes,

"It's...it's just been so hard without you. I kept running through scenarios in my head. I waited for the day a man in a suit would knock on the door telling me you were gone. Every unknown number made my heart drop. I...I can't even imagine being without you," Taeyong sobbed into Jaehyun's chest,

"Shhh Yongie, I'm not leaving you again. I promise. We will raise Jisung together now. The struggles that you have will also be my struggles. I promise you won't ever have to do anything alone again," Jaehyun reassured him and kissed his head,

The rest of the morning the two spent together. Cuddling and just being with each other. Jisung was still with Jeno and Jaemin. Around lunchtime the two-year-old burst through the front door. 

"PAPA, DADDY, JISUNGIE IS HOME!" he screamed and ran toward the living room,

"Jisung-ah what did Papa say about screaming?"  Taeyong asked,

"No screaming," Jisung said sheepishly and hid behind Jeno,

"Jisung was asking to go to the Zoo, but Jeno and I have an appointment," Jaemin said, "Maybe you two could bring him?" he suggested,

"Well, we did go to the Zoo a few days ago..." Taeyong started,

"Come on Yongie, let's go as a family," Jaehyun suggested making a puppy face,

"Aish, alright, fine let's go to the Zoo," Taeyong sighed but laughed when the two other boys cheered with glee,

"Jisungie, go get dressed and then we can go to the Zoo," Jaehyun said shooing the boy into his own room,

"Otay Daddy!" Jisung said and ran to his room,

By the time all three were ready it was 1:00 in the afternoon. It was chilly out, so the boys bundled up. Jisung had a puffy jacket on, mittens, and his pompom hat that said "Jisung." 

"Are we ready to go to the Zoo?" Taeyong asked,

"I think so," Jaehyun said and looked at Jisung,

"Yes!" Jisung said but it was muffled by his jacket, 

"Okay let's go!" Jaehyun said and lifted Jisung onto his shoulders.

Once the three were at the Zoo, Jaehyun lifted Jisung out of his car seat and put him back on his shoulders. Jisung giggled and patted his father's hair. Taeyong paid for the tickets to get inside. They first went to see the monkeys which were Jaehyun's favorite.

"Jisungie, look, they like to climb on things just like you!" Jaehyun exclaimed bouncing his son on his shoulders bit,

"Papa, I want to see the lions!" Jisung whined,

"Okay, buddy, we'll go there next," Taeyong said pinching the toddler's cheek.

The three made their way to the lion exhibit. Jaehyun put Jisung down so he could run ahead of his parents. The two husbands walked hand and hand a little farther behind. 

"How did I get so lucky?" Jaehyun asked squeezing Taeyong's hand,

"You're the best father and husband anyone could ask for," Taeyong replied leaving a small peck on Jaehyun's lips,

"Papa! Daddy! Hurry up," Jisung whined running back to his father's,

"Okay, okay, we're coming!" Taeyong laughed,

The rest of the way to the lion den, Jisung walked between his two parents. One hand in Jaehyun's and one in Taeyongs. Occasionally Jisung would jump up and the two would lift Jisung by the arms causing him to go a little higher than his small legs would allow him. 

The three boys spent the rest of the day at the Zoo. They looked at different animals and enjoyed each others company. It was late when they all got home and Jisung had already fallen asleep. Jaehyun carried the sleeping boy to his room and tucked him in. He stood the doorway for a few seconds just admiring his son before shutting the door. He then went back to his and Taeyong's room. Taeyong was already snuggled under the covers half asleep. Jaehyun turned all the lights off in the house and crawled into bed. He pulled Taeyong's body close to him so that their chests were up against one and other. Taeyong hummed and snuggled closer to Jaehyun. 

"I love you, my prince," Jaehyun whispered,

"I love you too, my ace," Taeyong replied finally drifting off into a peaceful and dream-filled sleep. ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
