Sunday
12.50 hrs
I picked up my rucksack and slipped it over my shoulder, ready to leave the Retreat Centre now that the weekend was over.
To celebrate Easter Sunday the leaders had given us all boxes of chocolate eggs to take home with us so I happily stuffed my Cadbury Cream Egg box into my bag to enjoy later.
Maybe I could even give some to Fatima if she likes it...
We didn't get to talk last night because by the time I got back to my room it was nearly one in the morning and she was in no condition to talk. She had left me a message expressing her sadness for not being on when she promised, but she was too exhausted from the events that occurred whilst I was up here.
I still questioned whatever could have happened whilst I was away but I would just have to wait for later when she'd explain it all to me in person.
With everything in my room packed up we left our used bed sheets and towels outside in the corridor by the door, ready to be picked up later by the cleaners. Once done I locked up my room and proceeded downstairs to hand in my key to our group leader.
'Thank you, I hope you enjoyed it?' he said taking the key off my hand.
'I did, thank you,' I answered before turning around and spotting Daniel sat at one of the tables, drinking a bottle of water whilst talking to Lucy.
I walked up to them and set my bag down on a chair.
'Hey guys,' I said.
'Hi,' said Lucy, very sweetly as always.
'Sup man,' replied Daniel. 'You ready to go?'
'Yeah, I've got everything packed.'
'Good. And have you enjoyed it?' he asked awaiting the answer eagerly.
'Yeah, it's definitely been a good one,' I nodded as I answered.
I had to admit I did enjoy myself and I'm actually glad he convinced me to come along and attend this weekend.
'I'm glad to hear that, mate.' Daniel then turned his head to his left. 'And you, Lucy?'
'Yes, it's honestly been a fantastic weekend,' Lucy added. 'I've really enjoyed it, but I can't wait to get back to my own room and see my little dog.'
'That's sweet,' I replied. 'Definitely can't wait to get down already.'
'Yeah same,' Daniel added. 'You got your bike handy don't you?'
I nodded as I pulled out the keys to my Honda PCX from within my jeans pocket.
'Yeah, do you need a lift?'
Daniel shook his head.
'Nah, I'm probably going to get a lift with one of the leaders. You doing anything tonight though after you've finished with Fatima?'
'I don't know. I might just stay with her all day, seeing as now we have a lot to go over.'
'OK, that's fine,' Daniel smiled. 'I'll see you another time then when you're free.'
'All right. What about you, Lucy. What you up to today?'
'I don't know, really. Apart from spending time with my little Bella I might just go out for a coffee somewhere.'
'Sounds good. Enjoy it,' Daniel replied.
'Thanks, I will – you're welcome to join me if you want.'
