Previously on Happy Birthday...

"Did the date end well?" Louis asked.

"Did anything go wrong?" Niall asked.

"Will there be another date?" Harry asked.

"Wait, this was a date?" Tara asked confused. I had to ignore the other questions after I heard Tara's. I looked at her with slight horror.

"Did she not think it was a date?"

Tara's POV (Before the 'date' began)

I'm helping Brooklyn get ready for the concert. We've been pulling out almost her entire closet to find something. I mean, it's not every day that you get to go to a concert, so the outfit has to be just perfect. Brook said she just wanted to look cute but be comfortable. I told her that she was being ridiculous. She has to look perfect. She told me that I always take things to seriously.

"It's not every day that one of us goes to a concert, B. It has to be the perfect outfit." She laughed and shook her head.

"Tara, I want to look nice, but I want to be comfortable. It's fun to dress up when going out, but it's just Liam, and it'll be dark anyways." I gasp.

"You are going to be in public, B. You have to look your very best. It doesn't matter if only you will be able to see yourself, you can't just treat tonight like any other."

"Oh, I'm not. I just don't care so much about my outfit as you do."

"Well, I guess it only really matters what you think anyways."

"Exactly. Besides, it's not a date anyways. Liam doesn't like me like that. It's just a concert with a friend. So, all I need to be is happy with what I'm wearing and be comfortable too. It's not like Liam is going to dress up just for a concert." She picked out a cute, yet comfortable outfit, and did her makeup. I hope she has a fun night out. I wish I was going to a concert. It's always Brooklyn that gets treated out. I swear the guys like her best or something.

Liam's POV

This entire time I thought Brooklyn knew it was a date, but she really thought it was just a concert. I dressed up and got all nervous for something that technically didn't happen. How can something be considered a date if only one person saw it that way? It can't be. Which means that Brooke and I didn't actually go on a date. I really screwed up. This was supposed to be our first date and hopefully we'd have more. Now it's just the weirdest night I've ever had with the girl I like.

"So, she had no idea it was a date. How come you didn't tell her?" I was so frustrated with myself. How could I be so stupid?

"I figured that she would just know that. I should have informed her before hand." I hid my face in my hands. Stupid. Stupid. Stupid. Why are you so stupid?

"Girls need to know if it's a date or not. Liam, we're all friends. When a friend invites another friend out, they don't automatically assume that it's a date. They automatically assume that you're just hanging out."

"I just figured that since it was just going to be the two of us, that maybe she'd realize it was a date. I don't know. I guess I don't think when it comes to Brooklyn."

"Next time, if there even is a next time, you need to let her know that you want it to be a date or she won't know." There probably won't be a next time.

"I will definitely be telling her next time. I do not want to go through this again." Ever again. That was embarrassing. Now Tara will probably tell her and that will be more embarrassing. How could I forget to tell her the important part? 'Oh yeah, by the way, it's a date'. Man, I'm so stupid.
