Chapter Five
“Melanie! Melanie can you hear me?” Mr. Jones’s voice called out in worry.
Mel could feel her mind was groggy and her whole body hurt. She didn’t have the strength to even open her eyes, but she was very much conscious. She was lying on her back on a cool ground and could feel a hand on each of her shoulders as someone shook her frantically.
“She is conscious now, Mr. Jones,” Mr. Falcon’s strong voice said not far from where Mel was lying.
“Melanie, please open your eyes,” Mr Jones’s demanded. She could hear the worry in his voice and the shaking of her body stopped.
Mel let out a pained sigh and gulped. Her throat was burning and every swallow hurt. Her heart was racing fast and her breathing frantic. What had she dreamt of? Why would she dream of such a thing and what did it mean? She knew she needed to speak to Kale. He was the one who had also been in her dream. He could answer her questions and help her understand if it was just a dream or something more.
“Kale,” she whispered, and then groaned in pain as it hurt her throat.
“I’ll call him to come pick you up.” She felt Mr. Jones grasp removed and she heard his heavy footsteps run out of the room.
“I hope this is not something regular for you. If you were to collapse with the Mistress it could be dangerous for her and yourself. When you are able to talk again you can answer my question,” Mr. Falcon said with a harsh tone.

Mel continued to ponder the dream she had experienced in worry. It terrified her that she had entered one of her dreams while awake. It was the first time it had happened to her and she hoped it wouldn’t become a habit. It also hit her as odd that it hadn’t been of her usual Dream Mistress and wasn’t even sexual or about her being someone’s slave. It had been about her escaping with Kale, but from what…?
“Mel, Baby, what happened…” Kale yelled in fear running into the office. He stopped speaking midway through his sentence and took in a massive gasp of breath in terror. “Who are you?” he asked, his voice trembling.
“My name is irrelevant. I was speaking with Melanie about a business transaction when she collapsed.” Mr. Falcon groaned in annoyance and she heard the squelch of a chair as he sat down.
Mel felt Kale’s warm arms embrace her and she felt his breath in her ear. “Melanie, please tell me what happened? Did something happen to you? Are you hurt?” He gulped loudly and whispered softly in her ear, “Is it the dreams?”
Melanie gathered her strength and gave a sharp nod. It worried her that he knew it had been her dreams, but she was more concerned on them and how she felt from experiencing one while awake. She figured because he’d known her for years now, all the years she remembered, it probably wouldn’t have taken him long to figure out it was her dreams.
“Did you want me to call her an ambulance?” Mr Jones’s voice cut in, his loud steps entering the office again.
“Oh no, she’ll be fine. I think she just forgot to have something for lunch and I know she didn’t have breakfast before she left. She has hypoglycaemia. It’s not serious and the last time she fainted was a year or two ago,” Kale lied fluently, his voice showing no sign of it.
Mr. Jones sighed loudly. “I wish she had said something to me. I’m her employer. What if I hadn’t been able to get onto you?”
Mel felt her body lifted up from the cold floor and Kale began to walk with her. “It’s never been an issue before. I’ll take her home and make sure she doesn’t forget to eat again, so there’ll be no chance of her fainting at work again. Sorry for the trouble.”
