Maria stared at the still waters of the murky lake, it was late Autumn, the leaves had almost finished falling, coating the ground in the shriveled up orange colour of the dead leaves. Maria combed a hand through her shiny silver- almost white hair as the sun went down, it was almost time for the eternal struggle she had been dealing with for centuries now.

Maria had not fed for days now, her bloodlust was creeping up each second the moon rose, it was clear she'd be luring someone into her lair tonight. The hazel eyed girl left for her home as her eyes flickered red.

She stared into the alley, and climbed down a set of stairs to the large, dingy basement her landlord turned into an apartment. Maria smiled at the familiar air of the place, the faded bloodstains on the walls, as well as classic Victorian-grunge set up of her belongings.

Maria decided to change into a little black dress, as she learnt over the years, it was easier to hunt with skimpy clothes, she pulled on a pair of charcoal black, seven inch stilettos. The short girl pulled her hair up into an artistically messy bun, grabbed her purse, and left for a bar she had become a frequent at.

"Hey baby, you wanna come back to my place?" An obviously drunken guy slurred at Mari.

She smiled at him, her red eyes contrasting brightly against her pale skin, putting on her most seductive voice, Maria purred, "Why not back to mine?" The drunk guy nodded, a dopey grin plastered on his face.

Thank God, I was starving, thought the vampire girl, the boy she was taking home with her, she didn't even know his name. It was one of the few surprisingly easy times to get a meal. He followed her back to her lair, stumbling behind her, Maria was almost as tall as him with her heels on.

"Come on baby." She invited him down into the cement walled room, he grabbed her hand hesitantly and trailed after the silver haired girl.

Maria let go of his hand and disappeared into the inky black darkness of the room, "H- he- helloo?" The guy called, his drunken brain unable to process the fact of Maria walking into the shadows.

A sudden weight appeared on his back, he stumbled forward, almost falling face first into the ground. He whirled his head around to face her, but what he saw was truly terrifying, Maria's eyes were a bright shade of crimson, like blood, and a mouth wide open, revealing two freakishly long, sharp fangs. For a second, Maria felt sorry for the boy, though her hunger took over and she slammed her teeth into one of the blood vessels on the join between his shoulder and neck.

The silver haired girl suckled on the blood, getting an intense high feeling flooding into her head, not only was this man drunk, but high as well. After what felt like hours of feeding herself, Maria stopped, "Sorry about that, I never quite got your name."
