Watch out watch out, there's a little bit of a trigger about.
I'll make it so that the next two chapters can be skipped and the story will remain the same ☺️Some time had passed, although it didn't feel like it'd been long. Two months maybe? the world had grown colder, and a thin layer of ice now coated everything like a sheet of dust, settling into every corner. the path glinted like it had been sprayed with glitter; Levi's hand one side, Ellie's the other. the warmth was unbearable, a million layers separating the cleaving glacial temperatures outside and the snug new-born still inside you. The smell of mulled wine and warm apple drifted from a nearby market, all the sellers seemingly doing the same, the crowd gently husting their way past, bags In hand.
"daddy? what's happening?" Ellie questioned.
"it's a yuletide market, sweetie." Levi replied, looking down at the child you are raising, and then back up at you, his breath clouding in front of him and fogging up his glasses.
"Y/n, is everything okay?"
you knew what he meant, but something did feel a little off.
You took a deep breath, the cold of the evening settled in your lungs, the burn beginning to-

HThe world tilted and You hit the floor, and with some force. You felt Ellie's small, warm hand slip from yours and the cold in your chest began to spread, aching through your body and hammering through your veins, pulling and seizing your heartbeat-
You awoke to the bright lights of the hospital and the gentle caress of Levi's hand on your head. Ellie was sat on his knee, her face turned to you, coats and scarves and hats all placed neatly at the end of your bed.
Th-the ba-baby-"
"It's all okay, everything's gonna be okay just don't stress-ple-please, Y/n. Calm down" Levi rushed all his words out, as if something might stop him from getting across the things he needed you to know.
Everything was quiet, and bright. There was a ringing- it might have been a beeping? One way or another there was a noise and it needed to stop. You put your hand to your face to see a needle, only small. But a needle, non the less. It was bandaged, and attached to a tube and a bag of saline.
Hospital. I'm in a hospital. You thought to yourself.
"Le-oh-Levi what happ-what happened?""Shush shush shush, you just passed out, get some sleep"
You sat bolt upright in bed, the needle gently tugging.
"Levi the ba- the b-"
"Baby" he was practically whispering when a nurse came in, carrying a clip board.
She was jolly.
And rather portly.
"HELLO MRS. AKERMAN! "
"Oh my God no"
"oh dear I AM sorry. I'm here to do your obs... are you feeling a little better now?" Thankfully, she had quietened, Ellie and Levi awaitedely watching on.
"A little... a bit- short of breath?"
"Ah- okay. That's to be expected. You passed out a few hours ago, your husband here called the ambulance. I understand you're four months pregnant?""Yeah, is there anything wrong? Is something the matter with the bab-" you started to fluster, your heart started to race and your breath started to get deep and uneven.
"Sweetheart, calm down. You're pushing your blood pressure up. No, there's nothing wrong, it's common. High blood pressure, hormones, it's completely natural. We have found something, however. You ought to take a look at this."She did her rounds, and cane back ten minuets later, a picture of your baby in hand.
"We found this picture from your last scan. Someone with higher qualifications than me" she waved a hand in front of her face, as if to dismiss the idea. "Had a look. They found this... this thing. Your body is struggling to keep the weight of the baby. It's a big one- almost 9 pounds, and tall for a newborn too."
You rested a little, your heart rate resting back down again. A little, anyway.
Levi took your hand, that calming effect he always has wavering over you.
Ellie smiled.
"So he's big mummy. That's okay, I love you!"
Ellie's words flowed, and you asked a fated question, not knowing if you want to know the answer or not."So- - what does that mean?"
